    well what exactly?
edit: looked it up on wiki.
4chan is a site comparable to a forum(deviant art is closer) its basically just a bunch of random stuff/post-anything-u-want stuff?
/b/ section is the "random stuff" section and 4chan has been known to lead into revolts markebly the scientology revolt.
wth how is that worse than terrorist sites?

In Finland they're just blocking sites containing child pornography, as far as I know, and there was some stuff about some law that if you work for some big corporation your employer could read your work email.

Also, I wouldn't care too much even if the whole world would block 4chan, as I don't go there too much anymore because I'm pretty tired with the porn, kids spamming stuff to be cool on the internet, old jokes everyone's heard and seen a 1000 times already, gore that even 5 year olds are immune to these days, and I don't need to go there to get some feeling of power and belonging from the "WE ARE ANONYMOUS WE ARE LEGION WOO WE RULE AND WE'RE SO COOL LULZ" crap due to real life. I do visit some finnish "alternatives" because there aren't tons and tons of people there spamming 24/7 (chance of some actual discussion) and there aren't too many 13 year olds there.

I am on AT&T, our internet went down two days ago, and just before that I was browsing /b/ for the first time in a while.

I just checked, and no, they are not blocking /b/.

This is not China. I will not allow this. AT&T has always had far better service than the only other viable ISP around here (west michigan), which is comcast. My service is steady and my upstream doesn't suck. If they follow through with this, then I will absolutely be switching my service, and AT&T will be getting a hell of an earful from me.

I'm pretty sure employers in most countries are allowed to read their employees' work email.

That's only /b/. The rest of 4chan is much better.

The server that also happened to be img.4chan.org was DDoSing some random AT&T customer. If you DDoSed pretty much anyone, your entire IP would be blocked on that company until about a minute after you stopped. No one's censoring anything, it's just an automated system to stop their network from crashing like the DDoS is trying to do. (Actually, I suppose it's just a DoS since it's only the 4chan image server.)

(Distributed) Denial of Service. Wikipedia can explain it better than I can, but you've got the general gist of it.

It's not. It just happens to have some hackers and crackers hanging out on it.

I think that people abuse the word `hacker' too often. A cracker cracks and steals things, a hacker is just a term for a person who never stops learning and tries to solve (hard) problems, and much more... Just read the article: http://www.catb.org/esr/faqs/hacker-howto.html

The best way to contact me is by email, which you can find on my website: http://wizzup.org

Which is why is said both hackers and crackers hang out there. I'm a hacker (albeit a rather poor one) and I hang out there from time to time, as do some other hackers that I know.

I see you posting that every-time, it's just that people see movies and they learn hackers are people with nice computers that can hack the FBI in 1 sec.
