Req. Computer strength to bot?

Hello!
*i don't know if this subject have been talked about before, but please direct me to another tread if it has*

I am starting a bot army, my goal is around 200 bots on 2 machines. where i will put 5 bots on each virtual machine (not smart, they would just go on shifts, so they an't logged in for more than 1 hour at a time) so that would be like 50 VMs.
What is the Req. for running one VM?
according to "http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Game_requirements" it's:
"RuneScape: 128MB RAM, 500MHz CPU"
and i presume the java + scar also takes up around 128 mb, so that would be like 256 MB RAM per VM?
Equals 50 VMs times 256 MB ram = 12,8 gb ram divided by 2 computers = 6,4 GB ram each?
But what about "all the other stuff" :P such as the CPU and so on?

Lol 50 VM's. You forget that the OS also requires RAM and CPU?

Yes, linux req. 258 RAM as min. So that would be atleast 516 RAM for each virtual machine?
Would it be smarter to make stronger VM's, and run 2-3 SMART on each? im going to use proxy (or some look-alike called "TOR") too btw.

So you want to be running atleast 25 bots on both computers at one time right? If you want an idea how much CPU you use during a normal session of using SCAR, run a script for as long as it takes for it to complete one "run". Take note of the points when CPU usage spikes (Finding DTM/BMP). Worst case scenario is all 25 bots are searching the screen for a DTM while rotating that DTM.

If you are going to run SMART, there is probably no reason to run a VM. Just try to run as many SMART's as you can. Though I doubt you will be able to run 25 bots on a single PC, especially SCAR. Unless you are running some monster rig, but I seriously doubt that.

I don't wanna seem like a downer, but why in the world would any single person need 200 bots? Theres a trade limit. And if you know a way to get around it, enlighten me.

The record isn't over 12 smarts at one time sooooooooo... good luck.

I know that running 25 bots on a normal computer would be overkill, im just looking for the req. to run 25 at a time.

Why im doing this?
Well, first of all i just want to test how hard it is to run around Runescape, and try-out some modified scripts i've found here and re-written.

**Hmm, my question to start out with should prolly have been like "how much Ram and CPU doese SCAR SRL Relection use?"
And then just laid it all togetther:
Linux: 256
RS: 128
Scar?
Proxy?

But what about CPU? i've talked with my uncle, whom says that you don't need a crazy big cpu which divide in 25 like the ram doese. but it borrows from each other?**

damn dude, amd is the shiz. =P
with that rig you could probably run 15 bots. and you dont need a proxy as long as the bots are on different worlds.

AMD's Black Edition is outdated now, but its still fairly good. When you said server I thought you meant you had 2-4 opterons and like a whole bunch of ram.

And even though you have a good CPU doesn't mean you will be any closer to reaching 25 bots at once. SRL, SCAR and Reflection are not optimized for hyperthreading. And afaik, neither is Runescape.

That's why you run each VM (or even each SMART) on a separate core.

But even with the best i7, I really don't think you could run 25, especially with all of those VMs.

Yes you can make it so each SMART/SCAR runs on a different core, that doesn't change the fact that the bots don't support multithreading.

CPU usage depends on your CPU, like I said test it out.

I have had SCAR use upwards of 300 mb of RAM including smart, possibly even more but I only have 768 mb of ram.

I think they start to figure out that when one computer have 100 players (with upto 20 playing at once), something is problably wrong

Good luck botting on 200 accounts at once. I suggest botting 10 at once, then switching players. That would work better

I can run 12 SMARTs on my PC (no VMs), and that's with 2gb RAM q6600. With 4gb RAM I might be able to run like 15 or 16, with an i7 maybe 20-ish, but really. 50 bots running simulteanously at one PC? no way that'll happen atm.

My thougth was to run 25 VMs (linux, ubuntu, proxie and 1 Scar) on one computer, my setup will be something like a intel duel core 3gz sumthing and 8 gb 800mhz kingston kit of 4.
But i don't think that's going to happend, since one vm problably requires something like 768 mb each according to capricorn. (so that would be like 10-11 VMs on 8 gb ram)

I'm going to test it soon thouge, and will post my test results here.

You are going to get sick of doing all the randoms. Trust me, that is why I haven't autoed in a while.

I'm thinking on setting switch player to 40-60 minutes? (to avoid as many randoms as possible)

And yes, SCAR seems to have some issues with there Anti-Random system :S

But if any SRL dev is upto it, i would gladly send him some broken bots in order to help wth the current problem?
