    Default FlashForward

Its a new series on ABC. The first episode came out yesterday.

Basically, every human on the entire planet blacks out for 2 minutes 17 seconds. During that time, they see 6 months into the future, and people either hope there visions come true, or people try and make sure the visions don't.

The first 20 minutes were 5/5 quality, then it slowed down for the remainder of the episode.

    Overall - 4.5/5

^ Link to full first episode.

    After the knockout.

Remember, people were driving planes, and cars before the blackout.

the origional concept of everybody in the world blacks out at the same time, yet they find that there are some people who were up and about. But then they went into some time travel thing. Since i disagree with time travel, it makes me disinclined to acquiesce to their request of me liking it. I hope it gets less time travelly and more mystery of what happenedy which would make me want to see what happens.

There was nothing about time travel - the people just saw "visions" of a date in the future. Plus, we don't even know if those visions will come true or not.

What do you mean you disagree with time travel? peoples have done real life experiments! didn't you see back to the future?

but all jokes aside, you are traveling through what society has labeled 'time' right now :P so unless your a live for the moment kinda guy i don't see any reason to be against it.

yes, from the previews and the end of the show, their visions are starting to come true. But seeing visions of the future is the same as going into the future. Which would change what they would have done. If they hadnt had any visions then their actions would be very different from their actions after seeing the visions.

That isnt time travel. Thats not traveling through time in the sense that you are moving ahead of or behind the present. Which is what i dont agree with.

By that logic, me watching a video of a tropical vacation would be the same as me taking a tropical vacation.

not at all. If you actually were to go into the future, then what? you look at some stuff and you leave and come back to the exact same time that you left. No one should be able to prove you left because of that, so in reality you only saw a vision of the future, as you never physically left. This is assuming that the future is set in stone, not at all counting the fact that since you know what happens in that future you'll make decisions based off what you sad and you've changed the future. So in essence you will have not done anything since by the butterfly effect you would change the entire world that you saw.

That's with assumptions that are generally not made when discussing time travel and viewing the future.

@ People outside of US trying to use hulu: this may work. I haven't tried it because I have no reason to, as I live in the US.

Ultra surf (http://www.ultrareach.com/) works on the ABC website, I used it to watch the first episode again. Just in case harry's method doesn't work for hulu.

    Meh.

Not as good as you said it was, a bit all over the place. I'd rate 3.25/5.
