    Default Before the GE

I miss life without the GE. I was able to buy something for 500k less than its worth then sell it for 3x its amount within 2 minutes of buying it.

I think he has a good point there, good subject to discuss.

I think GE is a great thing, because of all autoers. If we could sell stuff for any price, it would mean that autoers collect resources like hell, sell them for lowest price -> ores, logs etc collapse, and all the useful items, such as godswords and whips, probably even rune armour would become so expensive that legit players could never have the money for them.

No. With the G.E, Jagex can EASILY cap alot of items prices. It can easily destroy merching.

but if they completely destroy merchanting, then there will be nothing left really. If autoers could do something like that, like completely changing the economy, it might force jagex into either doing something they'd regret or changing back some of the things. Maybe not but its a hope.

RWT isnt completely dead but Jagex have very effectivly shut down RS Gold merchants. Which was there aim and not to stop us autoers from trading out autoed cash. But there must be a way that you can do it? Surely.

You haven't exactly completely destroyed merchanting with the G.E. you have simply changed its style. Now that the G.E. is around there is a new way people merchant which is by making item prices skyrocket and then selling to make a profit. Merchanting exists except now its within large groups of people rather than 1 person.

Though I still wish the G.E. didn't control prices.

by incorporating the GE, jagex has made RuneScape less realistic. Before the GE, RuneScape had it's own economy. Now, because of the GE with jagex controlling the prices, the people have no say on what the prices should REALLY be. Merchanting IMO is not a bad thing, people do it irl legaly, so why is it illegal in rs?

    just my 2 cents

The prices shouldn't "really" be what they were without the GE.
Prices of ores, logs, fish and stuff that is autoed 24/7 would be very low, so there wouldn't be much ways to make money. And because all the autoed goods are sold so the players could buy good stuff, like barrows items and such, all prices of the epix would rise so high legit players could never make enough money for them. I could easily buy a whip with 100M if it were the price, but think of all the legit players... It wouldn't really make any sense.

Yeah jagex screwed up the runescape economy, i remember buying death runes for 180gp each then going to world one and selling for 250-300gp each. I made like a mill a day just by doing that
