    Default IWF - Content Filtering

    http://fuckingshocking.com/

    System Offline

"We’ve received information from the Obscene Publications Department of the Met Police regarding a website running on an IP address we’ve traced to your server. The domain in question is fuckingshocking.com which was reported to the Met Police by the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF). As the server the website is hosted on is located within the United Kingdom it is subject to the regulations of the Obscene Publications Act. The Police have asked that the website be removed from the server and no longer operated within the borders of the United Kingdom."

The site is currently offline until further notice.

It is a shame that the IWF does no longer stick to their main purpose of fighting TRULY illegal stuff like child porn online - which is what they set up to do. Now there seems to be a move to control the Internet in the UK, as it is in China. Restrict everything, control the public etc.

What annoys me is that those complaining are the type that don't like the name of the site, but will spend weeks looking through it, then say "oh isn't that terrible!"... Like a woman who sat through a Chubby Brown show and said, "2 hours of absolute filth and racism - no better than last year". There is the CEOP and SOCA in the UK, so there is now no genuine reason to keep IWF. They are showing in their actions that they serve no purpose anymore, apart from making a healthy living. That Government funding should be put in to CEOP or SOCA to investigate *REAL* crime. The Police do allow sex shops and brothels in London, UK, but only if the owners pay a huge licence fee each year. Any that do not are prosecuted, so it seems they are often confused as to the Law. Turning a blind eye to one thing, but allowing another in a different area.

I can just imagine a group of old women with nothing better to do just searching for rude words - then reporting everything they see. Not because they want to, just because they can.

I hope the site relocates in another country. In the UK they no longer have freedom of speech as they have been overrun with people that shouldn't have ever been allowed in.

I personally found the site, as its name says, fucking shocking. I dislike the site, as it's very cruel. Is that enough to wipe it off the Internet? No, not at all. It serves an ample warning to keep out minors, anyone who goes into it is an adult who can make their own decision on gore they see.

ISPs in the UK are now operating blacklists of sites to prevent access to them. Everything the IWF and more recently, the Government, decides is unsuitable for the public. People are no longer allowed to make up their own minds. They tried it on torrent sites a few weeks ago. o2 did it by altering DNS entries, but that was soon fixed by using openDNS. Later they tried content filtering and word filters, but that didn't work too well!

Don't the cops have anything better to do? Closing a gore website is much more important than say.. stopping Arabs and Africans from flooding into Briton; you should know this, because it's what they tell you.

I wish UK people took the values of the age of enlightenment of liberty and freedom of expression more seriously...

Almost everybody I've asked in this country believes its a good idea to ban holocaust denial despite the freedom of speech issues.

People can say whatever they want, but the holocaust did happen and it will always be true and that information accessible in some way or another forever, so they are wasting the time.

I agree the cops are wasting their time, it was like when I got pulled over for doing 35mph on a major road where people usually drive (speed limit 45) 50 or even 60 just because it was over an hour after school (high school 14-19yr olds) had gotten out and there was no sign facing my direction... so I had to pay $100+ dollars which is more than some people make in an entire day just because a cop needed to reach his "monthly quota"

Thats because most people are stupid, give anything enough negative media attention and opinions of 'authority figures' and people will follow. I think the real problem here is people are not thinking for themselves, because thats the way the system was made to work

Agreed. I blame the Daily Mail for all our problems. Possibly a creation of Satan himself, but if not, still a horrible publication that spews constant rubbish and has turned so many people into mindless idiots.

    Read this:
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...fatal-fit.html

Note how he stopped smoking six months before his death, but it also said he used cocaine and amphetamines, and it did not say that he stopped using them. Thankfully the best rated comments have the right idea, but it sickens me that they publish such utter crap.

Censorship is just another thing that people are trying to bring about to give themselves more control over the population. The purpose of the internet was to share information and files. Yet it's file sharing and the spread of certain information (that some or a few people disagree with) that are being cracked down on. Ironic.
