Not a psychologist, dude, a genuine doctor. In my personal experience, psychologists just fuck you up even worse.

A doctor could look at you and say "well man you've got about six more months in the dark and then it'll all work out", or "dude you might need to see a psychiatrist about meds", etc.

On another note, if you really can't enjoy life, I suggest you act like the people who do. Dress gorgeously, work on your appearance and smile, get a job and spend money on random shit in real life stores. Have sex with a few cute chicks (or say you have) and forge yourself a reputation of a real baller, someone who's getting the ladies, the fun and doesn't take shit from no one.

I personally am living kind of a double life : in one I am the geek yall are getting to know. In the other, I'm an enterprising college student with appetites for big cars, extreme sensation and cute women. The first one allows me to stay true while my public face allows me to have a reputation.

Reputation has a power. Use it. I used to go mad with it, and found that if you lie enough and live it out you'll get what you want by the scores, but you'll lose yourself. This is a balance that every geek or nerd needs to strike if they wish to become happy and successful.

Sorry about how that came up. I've been working for five hours on a stupid college essay.

Just because it was not written by me that should not subtract from its wonder.

You should try visiting a place of worship. I know you probaly think religions are a load of made up stories but they really can help people. If you try to believe in a religion you whole life will always have a purpose. I am a Muslim and I know its a strick religion but i dont pray 5 time a day. I usually pray about once a week. However, that one timea week that I do pray helps me remember my god for the rest of the week. I do go out with friends and most of them are Muslims aswel. If you go to join a religion you will be welcomed and will immediately have people to talk to whenever you want that will give you the best advise. You will also get people of the same age as you there so you can make a whole new group of friends. You can still do what you want but if you truely try to believe in your religion you wont feel like doing all the bad things. Im not sure about all the other religions im talking about Islam but im guessing all the others are similar.

it doesnt subtract from its wonder, but it subtracted from my wonderment at your "oratory" skills.

Dr. D - learn defensive martial arts, or tell someone about it and get those kids suspended. Also i got from you talking about "Lauren" that that is the source of all of your negativity. I very well could be interepretting wrong, but if a girl is your reason for not liking life, then i dont believe you have a problem. Otherwise, suck it up. If your life sucks, then do something about it to be productive and make it better.

I think that especially since you are only coming to this conclusion when you think life sucks personally that you really dont have much of a problem relatively. If you were to just randomly have an epiphany and say such things, then i might think more of it.

Life is pointless, there is no denying that. Also the large majority of people are assholes, there's no denying that (well, at least everywhere I've been). No matter what any one tells you, there really is no concrete reason to keep on living.

There is no reason to bother to figure out why to live. No one can tell you a reason, either. You don't even need to find your own, it'll be useless.

I consider the positions of kings and rulers as that of dust motes. I observe treasures of gold and gems as so many bricks and pebbles. I look upon the finest silken robes as tattered rags. I see myriad worlds of the universe as small seeds of fruit, and the greatest lake in India as a drop of oil on my foot. I perceive the teachings of the world to be the illusion of magicians. I discern the highest conception of emancipation as a golden brocade in a dream, and view the holy path of the illuminated ones as flowers appearing in one's eyes. I see meditation as a pillar of a mountain, Nirvana as a nightmare of daytime. I look upon the judgment of right and wrong as the serpentine dance of a dragon, and the rise and fall of beliefs as but traces left by the four seasons.

There is no meaning to life.

We live what ? 80 years ? And those 80 years are nothing but years of pain.

Why not die early to avoid this pain ?

People do things in their lives you say, to help others. Yes, well is that help of any use when you know you will die in x amount of years ? When you know that someday there will be no humans left ?

What's the point of living ? Tell me !

    There is none.

You say pain doesn't have to be about pain always ?

I say, you're wrong, there is always a but to everything good.

Life is useless, and I'm wondering why I even bother to live, when only bad things happen everyday.

Yes, I am crying while writing this. I cry everyday, don't know why, just cry.
Life's not pain. Life is good, i hardly ever feel physical or emotional pain.
If your that bad, just go and fix it.

    Worst advice evar.

Big cars, "extreme sensation" and cute women? You should be pursuing those things because you WANT to. Not because you think that's what other people think you want. I think you might possibly be deluding yourself into thinking you're happy being someone you're not.

On another note, how's life Dervish? Has this thread helped at all? I know you probably weren't looking for help, but I thought maybe hearing pretty much all of SRL's opinion's on life might have cheered you up

I dislike religion for the simple fact of worshipping something which does not exist, or doesn't have any proof of existing.

Hard to explain. I missed school for a few days until holidays, made me feel better, yet guilty because I know how much it costs my parents (yep, good and bad things; always together).

I laid in the dark for a few days, playing games, alot until I thought I had to change something. Isolated myself totally, except from SRL and from my mom and dad and sister. Deleted my facebook, and everything, to think.

So I started changing by getting a new haircut, making it regain its original color (brown), I bought some new clothes to change from my original dark, goth slim style, for a little bit more laid back and comfortable style.

I first didn't find it to fit me at all, but I got used to it after some time and finally went out to see an old friend from ~4 years ago and we had a chat, a coffee and a movie. He invited me to a party he'll be doing in a few days, which I'll go to... Now to find a guide on the internet on how to participate to a social event...

I think its going better, although I haven't found any good sides to life, I think I've understood something, I don't know what but it all seems lighter in my head.

Yes, I am crying while writing this. I cry everyday, don't know why, just cry. Cry in despair.

Very dark and depressing sounds like you want to take your life. Don't do it.

Pain, sadness, stress and frustration are all states of mind. It's all about your attitude. What do you decide to see, what do you decide not to see. If you still say that there is no changing the feeling that life is sad after reading this, you are not even trying to help the situation. That would make you a quitter.

So, what do you say? Life is what you make it, agree?

    http://www.wordsbykim.com/quicklinks...n-To-Live.html
These are actually "reasons not to commit suicide", so I picked the real "reasons to live".

    3. I want to experience all that life has to offer and there are many experiences I haven’t had yet which I want to have.
    8. I believe I can find a purpose in life, a reason to live
    13. I am curious about what will happen in the future
    22. Life is all we have and is better than nothing
    27. My family depends on me and needs me
    33. I want to watch my children as they grow

Your death wouldn't impact this world in any way, that's true. You will most likely be forgotten after your last friend or relative dies. Although your life is practically unnecessary to this world, it doesn't mean you shouldn't keep it up. You don't really need your computer to live, do you? You don't really need your phone or clothes, but still you use them. I live for myself, for my soulmate and for my children-to-be, not for this world as a whole. Pleasure, feeling of success and joy are enough reasons to live. Everyone has something that they get pleasure from. If it's sex, go have sex. If it's drugs, go do drugs. If it's falling in love, having children and raising them well and watching them grow, then do it. The main goal for everyone should be that you can say "I did everything I ever wanted" and smile on your last bed. That's not the meaning of life, but the reason to live. There are just as many meanings to life as there are people on this world.

I had lack of belief when I was 15, I used to cry a lot. I didn't think this life is going anywhere. I didn't know my part in this world. However, now I do know my part and am very proud of it. Exactly 2 years, 1 month and 1 day ago I met the love of my life and my part is not only to make her happy, but to live a happy life with her. I don't worry what the world will be like in the future, I focus on completing my own world, reaching my own goals. Why should I care if my life is not going to help this world, as long as it gives me satisfaction and pleasure? That's enough.

And if your so stressed about life that you don't have time for school and that stresses you even more, then remember that schools are made for you, you are not made for schools. They just might help you achieve something. If you don't want any good job and you don't really need a lot of money, then forget about school. I only go to school because I really want to be a dentist, and I will be. Med. Uni entrance tests are in 6 months, wish me luck. I want to be a dentist because I know I will get satisfaction when I heal a patient and I know it's a nice job. It's all about my personal feel-good..

The purpose of life is unconditional love. There is little in this world.

Its funny my brother and I talk about this all the time.

    Heres my day...
    • 6:25 - Alarm goes off
    • 6:45 - Bus arrives
    • 3:05 - School gets out
    • 3:13 - Arrive at home
    • 3:15 - Turn on xbox
    • 5:45 - Eat dinner
    • 6:00 - Take shower
    • 6:05 - Commentate video and upload it
    • 6:18 - While uploading do homework
    • 8:00(about) - Hang out with gf/more games
    • 11:00(about) - Go to bed

Why do I get up every morning tired, to go to school, which I'm bored out of my mind, to then waste my life with video games.

I've never thought of suicide or anything just a serious thought.

Ever thought about doing something constructive?
Games aren't constructive, so they won't provide you with a feeling of satisfaction, like you've actually done something useful.
