    Default Not downloading Scar.exe

When I try to download Scar 3.22 (from freddy1990.com) I get all the files except Scar.exe to actaully run the program itself. I haven't downloaded any versions of Scar in a long time, but the old ones still work. Also, the Scar icon isn't there, it's just a blank page thing.

So, how do I download 3.22 correctly, and get it to work?

McAfee detects SCAR 3.22 as a virus for some reason, I've sent an inquiry about it to the company, but they have yet to respond...

I had this on my dad's laptop, also with d/ling scarprelease using SVN. I just gave up trying at one point
I don't know if it has McAfee but I don't think so.

I have McAfee to, hopefully they'll respond to Freddy1990's inquiry about it... Soon... Anywho if you really want to auto then you gotta fly under the radar for a while.

    • Open McAfee
    • Click "Advanced Menu" (lower left)
    • Click "Configure" (lower left)
    • Click "Computer & Files" (top left)
    • Then on the first thing click "off"

Then re-install it, just don't go downloading random stuff with this off and you should be fine...

I talked about it on the McAfee forums and this one mod told me to email it to some place for them to really test it, I tried to attach it to an email but it wouldn't go through because of the virus thing, so maybe I could try to turn off McAfee completely and send we'll see

    Hope I helped!!

This is so damn annoying. Thanks for inquiring about it Freddy, I have sent it to them multiple times, but every time they tell me it's a trojan.

Just uninstall McAfee and install, Avast! or AVG Free Edition. Both of them work amazingly well, and won't cause Scar.exe to not download.

How about you install a different AntiVirus?

How about you ask Freddy to stop using packers on SCAR so that antiviruses don't think it's a virus?

Why don't the anti viruses just stop detecting false positives?

I don't have an anti-virus and it's doing the same thing to me.

I also get the error of not having BASS.dll, but when I download it, it still just crashes when I try to load it.

Load fixscar in your root directory where SCAR should be.

lol I must be missing something.

I uninstalled Scar a while ago, and decided today to reinstall this version. I downloaded strait from freddy's website.

I don't see any dll's at all in the entire directory.

Also, where am I supposed to get the includes? I know I had a folder full in the previous version, but I don't see anything in this one.

Click the list of tutorials in my signature. Select how to install and setup SCAR. It's a video guide.

Or you can use the Master Coh3n version and go here.

OK...I did exactly what you're tut said, multiple times over.

It's still crashing before it even loads, saying it failed to initialize.

Someone else may have the answer. Or more specifically, Freddy.

It's a smart error, nothing to do with scar, I am pretty sure anyway. It's saying smart failed to initialize, right?

and I'm pretty sure Norton thinks SCAR is a virus too, I have norton, and when I try to update SCAR via SVN it's been messing up :/
