Just looking at the screenshot it is a total rip off of scar. SRL is based on scar yet you want to create another program for macroing. Why would you want to do this

Scar is closed source. So what so are almost every other program I have used.
It will work on multi os's? It works on *nix just fine. I installed wine, windows java binaries, I was able to use SMART to auto on it. No problems what-so-ever

For the reasons stated in the first post. Maintainability and Education.
However, my reason to participate in this project is to educate the people who are interested, although a great deal is also just having fun, learning new stuff.
Why are you so offensive, cycrosism? Freddy suggested this himself.
It looks like SCAR? Well, what did you expect? What is a color macro without a color picker, without a window selector?14:34 < Freddy1990> jimmy_mac: If people want it open-source so badly, why don't they write it themselves?
Those are just basic features, it's like saying Paint and GIMP are the same, because they both load an image and allow you to edit them.
Try picking a Native Linux window with SCAR in Wine.

Wow, this looks amazing! Can't wait! Great job!

I would love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code. || To be the best, you've got to beat the rest. || Logic never changes, just the syntax.
If you PM me with a stupid question or one listed in FAQ, or about a script that is not mine, I will NOT respond.
SRL is a Library of routines made by the SRL community written for the Program Simba. We produce Scripts for the game Runescape.

So this was the surprise you were talking about on irc
You have to admit i was close.
Cool.
/me may start helping now.
The jealous temper of mankind, ever more disposed to censure than
to praise the work of others, has constantly made the pursuit of new
methods and systems no less perilous than the search after unknown
lands and seas.
Finally. I like this much better than constant nagging about the direction of SCAR. The thing that really interests me is the multilanguage-binding-thing. Not that i would end up using it, but it could be nice to practice...doing the same thing in different languages and working up from there seems like nift. I just dont see how the different things in each language would all mesh together to still work under the same roof. Like C++ and pascal and Whitespace dont seem like they would work together.

From what I understand now SRL 5 will be at least initially developed for Simba, although porting it to SCAR is a matter of doing some Replace-Alls on a few function names.
Of course since Simba is open-source, I wouldn't be surprised if it got some radically new ideas from random people that SCAR wouldn't have for awhile![]()
Ah this is for sure something major, but look at it this way: Other communities are just waay to ahead of us...
Faith is an oasis in the heart which will never be reached by the caravan of thinking.

I don't see this replacing SCAR anytime in the near future, although maybe some day years from now it will be all we have, and at that time it will have been around long enough to be dependable.
IMO until then it looks like a fun tool, used for random things/ education purposes... maybe a few specially made scripts or two.. but nothing more.
One step closer to losing freddy!
