IRC is not a requirement. It is usually sad to see people go.
In my opinion, one individual learning something new is beneficial and contributes to the community. Why is this you may ask? We are technology based, and in the world today knowledge is power. So, if we share our knowledge are we not becoming more powerful?
Well, enjoy whatever it is you are going to be doing.

I only caught the end of the IRC fight, why is everyone so grumpy?
Thanks for the advice.
I do learn new things, but the problem is that I have no interest for simba, only for web development, sure I can help when there is a problem with that but that's all, and in a community evolved around scar and now simba, that's pretty pointlesss.
and as far as contributing goes most would not find my work useful in this community as it generally does not relate to runescape.
