No, I don't believe that you have to be a Christian to be a good person; however I do believe that there is a distinct Love that all persons need to be a Christian.I can see the shallow bridge troll comment already: "Valuable??? What do you mean by "valuable"??!? See, that is what I hate about Christians.. they see people as a prize to be converted, some statistic, numbers.. That is why I hate Christianity." .... .. Well, you know what? Me too. Christians can sicken me, and at times, it pains me to say I am one... IF the label was as I described.. then no I would never be. It shames me to say that sometimes I am ashamed of what I believe in. But I try to catch myself, because when it comes down to it... I am not ashamed at all. Not in the slightest. If somebody gets angry, says something vile, does something indecent or hurtful towards me because of me being a Christian, that is their fault for judging or pinning a label on me without knowing truly what it is that I, that I believe in.
Great - you are a perfect candidate to tell Bill O'Reilly to keep his trap shut. Please and thank you :P

Hindu by birth. Yet, I believe more strongly in Buddhism like Claw. It just makes more sense to me.

Any religion is fine to me as long as they don't take the dogma too seriously. Dogma should be judged apocryphally.

Hehe or you could view me as a member of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster

Hahaha, thanks. You know, I actually like watching that show sometimes. In moderation of course. But it makes me smile. Surely though, there are things that I do and don't agree with on the show.

^ I thought that was called Social Darwinism.. Just saying. Although the name you are using kindof sounds like a runescape cult.. not that it is, and I am sorry if that insults you.

I, myself, am a Christian. Born to it. Yes, some stuff that comes with it can get boring and sometimes is hard to get through.
But when you actually look through and start to understand the logic within the words, its very relieving.
    In my opinion.
P.S I'm not the type to get in your face about it. Those are the people that are just trying to get attention from such religious beliefs.

If you haven't noticed, the majority of people who voted on this thread are atheist.

Also, you're an arrogant child for acting like that. One's religion has nothing to do with their actual personality. And you acting better or superior to others because you deem yourself rebellious is ludicrous.

    Grow up.

    agree

One's religion instills morals, which guide a persons actions and can shape their personality. So personally, I would have to disagree with you. Morals play too big of a role in decision making and everyday life.

Atheist. And I'm so not surprised most people are Atheist here. In fact, it was more than expected. But yes, you should definitely separate the Atheists from Agnostics. There is a Fine line between the two.

The reason I said that one's religion has nothing to do with their personality is because anyone from any religion can have the same personality. Of course each religion causes people to feel differently in certain situations, but a Buddhist and a Muslim could feel the same about any event. (Keyword is could.)

May I ask why? I agree, but it'd be nice to know why you think that.

Why what? Why most people are atheist here? Because most educated people are. Especially if they're not born into a religion. Usually if your family is really religious (such as my cousins), they will tend to stay with that religion and pass it onto their kids. As apposed to myself, where we had no hardcore church goings or prayers at every meal. This allowed me to question religions rationally and pick one for myself. Being educated you tend to be more scientific fact based. Because a lot of religious beliefs tend to contradict science proven facts. The goodie optimists, such as my friends, bend the interpretation of their religions to their liking/ to suit their needs (in this case to coexist with Scientology) and voila. You get people becoming atheist because they see a bunch of flaws.

If you're asking why they should be separate, well that's obvious: Atheists are people who BELIEVE there is no God, and Agnostics (as far as I've been told [but haven't looked into it]) are people who cant decide what to believe/ don't believe in either?

Unless that event is religion. I'm pretty sure they'll disagree lol.

Your definition of atheism is incorrect. Atheists do not believe that there is no deity. Atheism is the lack of theism. I, as an atheist, cannot fathom that there could be a deity. It makes no logical sense to me. I don't believe that there is no god. I simply know that there couldn't be.

Agnostics just don't really care. There could be, there couldn't be. But, generally, they like to have that 50/50 chance, because, from agnostics who I've asked, would rather take a chance and sort of believe in a god than totally deny it and be wrong.

Also, intelligence and religion aren't very correlated, usually.

I disagree with that statement. If you count the number posted for a religion vs the number not for a religion of some sort. Your conlcusion would be false. I would say more of something like, "well it looks like this forum is really math/science/logic based. As such, many of the people here do not view religion as something absolute or concrete. Therefore many do not claim/follow/understand/et cetera religion and/or God."
