    Default Homewrecking

Recently I bought a used microsd card on craigslist. Curiosity got the better of me, and I used file recovery software and found a bunch of pictures of him at a titty bar. A quick google found that he was married. I let him know what I'd found, and told him he could buy it back from me for $20 more than I'd paid him. I never threatened to show his wife or made any blackmailing comments. I simply told him what I'd found, and said he could buy it back...for a price.

    Good job .

Edit: There is not really anything to discuss. I don't see how it is homewrecking either.

Basically that is why I DOD all my stuff and don't sell it if information ever crossed it. Not that I have anything to hide, I just like to keep my stuff... well, my stuff. (not that I am married or have pictures of me at an adults'r-us bar).

Uhhhh, pretty sure that would fall under blackmailing.

No, it wouldn't. I didn't blackmail him in any way. I simply got curious, found something, let him know, then offered to let him buy it back. It's purely his choice to buy it back. I don't see that I did anything wrong, yet I still feel guilty.

Why would you even mention it if you were not expecting him to pay you back?

If its not blackmail then its coercion. Either way the point is you're trying to get money from him by making him feel threatened which, if not lawfully wrong, is morally wrong.

^ that is why you still feel bad about it.

If you sold it back penny/penny the price that you bought it, it would be like getting a strait refund for your product. Which wouldn't be coercion or blackmail. After you make that offer, if he decides to pay more or insists that is his choice purely on free will while not feeling threatened. In that case you would have done your part and nothing more to it. (then not feeling bad)

While it is true you did not threaten him in any way, it is implied.

You could just crop him out of the pictures and fap to them...

ITT: Original Poster is a noob.
The jealous temper of mankind, ever more disposed to censure than
to praise the work of others, has constantly made the pursuit of new
methods and systems no less perilous than the search after unknown
    lands and seas.

If you can't trade it back moneyformoney of what you originally paid. Just format the drive a few times and don't bother with it.

Unless you bought it solely for the sake of being a douche and recovering someone else's carelessly deleted files, why do you care?
