Default Help windows xp won't load

Sorry if this is in the wring section but the other day my computer froze so I turned it off and it wouldn't load it just keeps getting stuck at the windows xp loading screen

I can turn it on in safe mode but not with networking or command prompt, does anyone know what has done this? Also I have installed anything new recently

    thanks in advance
    Bonfield

IIRC, when you insert your bootable WinXP disk, there should be an option to "Repair Windows XP" under the "Install Windows XP". I Google'd this, it may help. There is also a Windows feature where you can revert your computer back to a time when it worked properly. You lose any programs installed after that time, but your files remain. Sorry, but I can't remember the name of the program.

OMG I HAD THIS PROBLEM YESTERDAY WITH VISTA!
I had to end up reformatting
I would load windows normally but it wouldn't load it would just be a black screen with my mouse. But I could go on safe mode fine.
Just backup in safe mode then reformat if nothing that these guys suggest works.
