    Default Bone marrow biopsy

    I hate life sometimes.
    I have to get that procedure done to explain why my WBC count is staying low. Doctor said it's a virus probably, and IMO it will return negative anyways. At least he's trying to help me

    Anyone had this done? Sites say it isn't so bad (and that everyone fear mongers it) but it still sounds like a bitch.

    I'm ranting because it doesn't sound fun and chances are it will return negative anyways. ****ing hell. Well what's got to be done has to be done.

    I dunno man, thats the 2nd on my list of worst procedures done, first would be something to do with my spine. (Mind you I haven't had either of them done)

    Well, that really really is lame man. I also hope it come back negative. Hopefully they are able to find something useful though. Really, best of luck to you.

    I haven't had it done myself. But I had a friend to had it done and he was fine. He mostly was freaked by the needle but said it wasn't a big deal. He is better too.

    When do you go in? Are you signed up for a sedative, and do you know who your doctor/nurse is?
    On vacation in NeverLand,
    Code:
    typedef int bool;
    enum { false, true };

    Good luck regardless. I'm sure it'll be fine.

    I almost am sure it will come back negative, as I only have low neutrophils and nothing else. It's funny cause it's not even neutropenia, the normal range is [AFAIK] 2.2 - 7.9 something/uL, and I'm at 1.9-2.0ish, but I've been hovering around there for a few months and the doctor says he wants it checked. The range for 'neutropenia' is considered to be 1.5, and anything under 0.5 is where the bad infections start happening.
    The doctor said its not anything serious because all my other numbers are normal, and if I had something really bad like a cancer, all my numbers would be thrown off (and thrown off far, not slightly below the range). He also wants it done because I did have some virus go through my system and has been sticking around.
    Assuming I do this, I want a sedative, and preferably to be put under. Time will tell when/if the date is set.

    Thats my order too: Bone marrow stuff = 2nd worst, spine stuff = 1st.
    I heard it varies with people. Some people say it's completely painless, others say it sucks bad for a few seconds.

    It might not be worth it to go under, even if it hurts. The thing is, anestecia (lol spelling, WHATEVA) can be not so fun when you wake up. You have to have a tube down your throat to keep breathing, which can make your throat hurt like hell after, and you can end up with a splitting headache after.

    Best of luck though mate

    I personally think pain comes from expectations and beliefs... but when you see the needle...

    Anyways, GL with it... why on earth are they testing you for it anyways, guessing family related disease?
