Default Black Ops Campaign - SPOILER ALERT

    Warning - spoilers below

    TLDR at bottom.

You start off as an SOG (Special Operations Group) group agent named Alex Mason, being interrogated in modern times about a mission around the Vietnam war time. The thing is though, you can't remember a thing because you was programmed by the Russians after being captured. You play as different people in the flash backs that he has. Back in the 60/70s (I can't remember) the President (JFK) asks you in the Pentagon to do the mission, and you accept.

The main story line is that 3 terrorists are in control of Nova 6; a toxic gas, and are planning to release it. You're job is to stop that happening. After the first mission where you get captured, you get taken to a 'prison' called Vakuta. You meet a Russian named Reznov and you escape together. You work together throughout the campaign, or that's at least what you think. On escaping Vakuta, you both go separate ways, and Reznov gets killed. You think he has survived though as the terrorists supply a lookalike to act as Reznov.

You battle your way through jungles in a gunship taking out anything in your path, gun down any other boats in your way whilst manning an MG on a speedboat, and get locked in a frozen ship where the Nova 6 was left. Pretty much its packed full of action. I will be honest, I think this is the best campaign that any COD has had.

At the end, when you have taken out 2 of the 3 terrorists, you can remember whilst being interrogated where the broadcast station which is to designed to let all of the sleeper cells of Nova 6 go off is. You and some other rush of to a ship in the middle of the ocean called the RUSALKA. Again you pilot a gunship. When an enemy gunship comes along, you get taken down, but manage to pull off a landing on the helipad. There are some Valkyrie rockets conveniently laying around, so you have to use them to take the enemy gunships down.

Once you've done that, you rush into the belly of the ship where half of your team is under heavy fire. There's a gaping hole in the middle of the floor, and you remember that the station is under water, but that's fine, because the Navy are about the blow the ship up. But...You won't get off until you know that the last terrorist (Dragovich) is dead. Your team bar you and someone else gets off, whilst you chase after Dragovich. You find him, and drown him, all while the Navy are on their way, even though the ship is already sinking for some reason.

Once you've done that, you you swim to the surface, seeing only a lone, small boat above. A bloke reaches his hand out to help you out. You climb out of the ocean and he says "It over...For now". You look around, and there are loads of Navy battle ships, and boats around. Fighter jets roar over your head, and it then fades back to the Pentagon.

The President, his Chief of Staff, the Russian President, and some other bloke are sitting around a table discussing the events. There is banging go on outside, and someone says that it sounds like someone trying to break in. It gets dismissed, then moments later, zombies break in. You fight as the President against the zombies in the Pentagon. All the usual Zombie Mode things are included; guns on the wall, pick-ups, and doors you can open. One thing I have noticed is that the Zombie maps are massive, and they seem to fight harder at lower rounds than in WaW.

The main menu of Black Ops is you sitting in your interrogation chair, and you're able to look around. There's a sort of secret game mode called Dead Ops Arcade. You can unlock this after you have completed the campaign by doing these steps:
    1) Rapidly press LT and RT to get out of your straps. You will now be standing.
    2) Walk around the back. In the corner there is a small computer with a keyboard. Press X to use it.
    3) Type in DOA.
    4) Dead Ops Arcade is now unlocked. It will show up in the normal Zombies menu now.

It is a sort of arcade Zombies mode. You play from a sky view, and move through different arenas trying to earn as many points as you can. Your standard gun, a machine gun, has unlimited ammo. You can pick up different weapons like the random pick-ups in normal Zombies mode. There are also bonus pick-ups, such as a chicken which shoots where you shoot, nuke (activated with LT), sprint boost (activated with RT), monkey bomb, fast sprint, and shield. It's great fun.

I might get into more detail about the separate missions later on, but this will do for now. Some people might be asking how I know this. I have had Black Ops for a few days now, have had time to complete the campaign, and play some Zombies and Dead Ops Arcade. You can find more info in The Man's threads, who also has the full game.

    TLDR: Amazing campaign.

The graphics are fairly decent, and so are the maps. I don't think that there's one gun which stands out like the UMP45 in MW2. The customization is pretty beasty. The killstreaks are fun to use. One thing which is a bit pikey though is that you can have Gold camo on every primary gun.

^ Not sure, as it's all already unlocked in splitscreen, but going on what Treyarch are saying that everything is purchased with cR, and only guns are unlocked, I'd say that it'll cost a lot of cR to buy.

    It's unlocked at 14th Prestige.
