Depends on where you are at and who is trying you... It basically just takes the files that they give you and puts them in permanent storage on your computer, which may or may not be against the terms of service, or violate copyrights depending on how they are read...

First of all, why does the money matter? As long as they can pay their taxes, rent, food, water, bills, etc., why does it matter? I know if I were to make music and try to get people to listen to it, money would be the last thing I worried about.

Not everything's about cash, man. Shit sucks that way.

At the rate record labels go, you CANT pay for that stuff. As a musician, I'm aware of this stuff. Of course ideally money wouldn't matter, but that's not how our free-market society works.

Two of my brothers have been in (one is still currently in, the other had a daughter and isn't anymore) bands and they're doing fine. They do have to have another job, but I think that's only fair. The amount that entertainment people get is ridiculous.

While I do not like downloading music, I also do not support record labels stealing their money.

Also getting a second job because the musical work you have done is only giving you Chinese sweatshop working pay is bullshit. If an artist put in 500 hours of work into an album they should get what they deserve.

I like how you justify by saying its different because there are lots of entertainment.

I don't have time to work another job. I have about 2-3 hours free a day, at different times every day, besides the 6 I set aside to sleep, and my uni classes, which Im also struggling to pay for.

Everyone always says, work harder, if you would just do more you would make enough money. Thats a load of crap. There's only so much one human being can do before they can't handle it any more. Most people here are probably in Highschool or in university, and live very comfortable lives.
