Default Question regarding the recent updates

I've been redoing my giant spider killer, this time using as much color as i can (gonna attempt to do the walking in color, too). I have a question, though, regarding the recent updates and the lack of safe mode without pressing "S"; what settings should i use to gather colors, and, in general, develop the script? I've been using safe mode in the normal client by just pressing "S" while it loads. However, what does SMART use?

This should be pretty simple. thanks

AFAIK SMART forces the client into safe mode somehow.
