    Default List of known problems

    Hoi,

It would be nice to compile a list of known problems, which I can add to the Simba/SRL documentation. This would include errors like "Applet does not have a declaration" from SMART, Out of Range in Players... lines in SRL, etc.

    Go!

Yeah, I was actually asking for problems related to using and running SRL, not so much problems related to the site.

The wiki has some weird issues since the last PHP update. (God how I hate PHP! It was only a minor update...)
Perhaps with a new vBulletin update I can make it work again, but there's a chance I'll also need a different wiki plug-in...)

Ah... Ignore our last posts then

Nearly all files in /misc/ folder is either outdated or not working.

Hmm.. I've been working on SPyRL and man is it hard to find some stuff.. I'm trying to restructure it better, but I guess that's a problem? Dunno how SRL5/6/whatever version the secret rev is now is doing in that field, but for SRL4 it is definitely not easy to find a lot of things (namely variables/constants).

More of a note to developers, really, but still important imo.

Oh, .ini files don't work. Can't remember what errors they give but I know that Coh3n and I have both had errors which haven't been solved.

Well maybe a better idea would be to wait for SRL5 to come out to work on the list more? I don't know if this would help SRL5 to know problems in SRL4, but I assume the developers for 5 are going to be thinking about errors regardless.

By the way, I'm excited to see SRL5.

It's really not going to differ that much. It's still largely based on SRL 4. I just want to compose a list of problems that "noobs" can run into when working with / setting up SRL. So they can be added to the documentation and we don't need to state the solution over and over again.

The INI file thing was weird. I kept getting "Could not write" (I think) errors when I used a .ini file. As soon as I switched to .txt file everything was fine.

And to expand on what luffs said, things need to be reorgainzed. Yeah, things are hard to find and there's constants and variables all over the place, rather than in one spot.

Just type the variable/constant and ctrl + click it, then Simba should locate and open the file where it is defined, afaik.

Does that work on Ubu? :x I don't think it does, but I'll check in a few minutes.

    Oohh, it does work! Thanks.

This was mentioned a while back, and i know it's in the wrong thread, but it's still relevant: Please do the include_once thing in SRL 5 (or 4 but kind of a waste of time now... ?) so that we can control + click between include files!

That's kinda impossible.. As an Include doesn't know what includes were included before that include.

EDIT: Oh wait, if you just {$include_once } all the files a certain include needs, that would make sense indeed :P.

I tested that with MSI an hour ago.
I got an error saying too many nested includes
    (in smart.simba, I think...)

EDIT: It might be that I did {$include_once} on SRL too..
SRL doesn't use this thus resulting in the error... hmm

I'll have another go at it later

I've read elsewhere that with different OS's and keyboards the options are different so its difficult. Maybe I'm more drunk than I think, but I remember something along those lines.
