Well, I'm not entirely sure of evolution. My beleif is that evolution does occur, but on a timescale so slow that it couldn't have possibly produced humans in a timespan that short. I mean, come on, 10 billion years (time for life to develop anywhere in known universe) isn't that long. How many genes are there on a DNA molecule, and how many nucletid bases does each one contain? It adds up, but then the key factor: probability. What is the probability that it will get mutated in the lifetime of the organism? Multiply the inverse of that by the number figured before, and you get something far far larger than the age of the universe. So, the timescale is just too big for evolution.
Even so, evolution is an unproven theory. There are still animals that can't be traced back to their ancestors via genetic inheritance. There are "missing links" in the chain of evolution. The theory is not watertight.
I have a theory that we were seeded on this planet by intelligent species living outside our universe. This happened by cross-breeding these species into the already existing chain of evolution (probably at the level of the first primitive vertebrae). Say what you want, that is where I stand. I mean, mammals are extremely strange creatures if you look at it from a different standpoint.
