    Default Help with Physics

Okay basically im in year 11 and im literally months of my final gcse tests i need a b in physics to take the course i want to in collage and that wouldn't be a problem but my last physics teacher left and we got put with a new one and when we left all the easy physics my original teacher left. iv had this teacher for 1-2 years now and i haven't learnt anything at all i dont know how to solve any sort complicated equations or anything. thats my problem i have my final test in a couple months and i dont know anything i need to know. my teacher is dumb doesnt explain stuff right i cant stand her and yer she's just a complete spaz
so i was hoping as these forums has been with me for as long as iv played runescape and iv been looking over them for a couple years now and iv noticed this was the place everyone got help. could someone help me out with physics and direct me to maybe a way to learn everything independently when i have time? i feel like she's confused everything for me so im hoping this place would teach me from the beginning

    Thanks in advance. =]

E: at rich i think so as he put year 11 not grade 5 or how ever they do it

Sorry. I do OCR Any idea on how different the courses are?

EDIT: Just tell your girlfriend that you want that B, and that you won't be able to spend as much time with her. Hopefully she'll understand. Is she on the same course?

Lol, d/w many of the physics teachers in my school are like this. Tbh, if you want to ace your science modules you have to sit down and actually study, buy the CGP science books which are relevant to your course .
    ^ I did just so and managed to get A*'s in physics (P1, P2, P3), chemistry (C1, C2, C3) and biology (B1, B2, B3) without re-taking. GCSE is waaay easier than A Level

To further help you, I would suggest that you tell us what exam board/physics spec you're doing. Some links would be helpful too

This site is really awesome to help you understand physics, no stupid waffle jargon shit, just straight to the point. http://www.ktaggart.co.uk/physics/notes.htm

EDIT: Also do looots of past papers, I did soo many last year. They really help you get your exam technique right; so you can nail those extra marks!

my teacher seriously fails she has to learn in the actual lesson and she doesnt know what she's doing. for example if i asked somthing and she didnt know it which is most of the time for most of the class she'll check the internet?
ino its not a bad idea checking the internet but its a straight forward question?
and most of the time she doesnt teach us she sets us work out of the book again nothing wrong with that but she doesnt explain it most of her lessons is turn to pg -- and take notes it's seriously retarded.

Lucky my school only does B1,B2 C1,C2 and P1,P2 and to do the threes you have to go after school else you only get 2 GCSEs in the 3 subjects :

Agreeing with Naum. The CGP books are a God-send, and they're quite cheap. You can get Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Core Science and Additional Science books all in foundation or higher.

    Amazon search

EDIT: Troll, we do up to the 4s in Core, and if you take Triple Science as a subject you do up to the 6s.

Lol, our school gets like 60 people to re-do B1, B2, C1, C2, P1, P2 so they can get another GCSE in further additional science.

I got an A* at GCSE Physics, and I'm currently doing A-level Physics, and my aim is to go onto study Computer Science at Cambridge, so my Physics is semi-relevant. Anything specific you need help with? Feel free to PM me whenever, I come on most days. 'Though I did and still do OCR, the specifications are all pretty similar, and they have to make the core content essentially the same as people from different boards are going to study the same courses at college etc. so they need the right foundation.

I admire you putting your girlfriend first

I might be able to help. I'm studying physics in college, and intend to get a PhD in physics.

All of these courses and tests that you're all talking about are foreign language to me, though.
    Unfortunately, no active scripts atm.
