Default Slow motion problem in 3D games

Some days ago I suddenly experienced this weird problem. My computer just slows down and everything lags as hell (Sound, Programs, OS and whatnot).
I have the latest drivers for everything (Triple checked everything. My computer is up to date.), and I know for a fact that my graphics card and CPU can handle these games (I'm getting the exact same problem with Minecraft, Black Ops and Modern Warfare).
Re-formating did not work, de-fragmenting did not work, setting all settings to lowest did not work and my virtual memory is 3x more than recommended.
Virus scan returned 0 viruses and 0 system faults.
It happens more often when I run other programs that uses the audiodg.exe process like Spotify and Skype, and one time when I got this while running Minecraft and Spotify, I actually saw Spotify close and re-open after 1-2 minutes of slow motion...

When the problem occurs, the sound becomes garbled (I.E if you hear a song it goes like "bom bom bom", for me it's like "bbbboooommmm bbbboooommmm bbbboooommmm"), the screen freezes, Skype stops the call, I get disconnected from servers and Spotify closes and re-opens.

So this is a list over stuff that didn't work:
    • Re-formating
    • Updating EVERYTHING
    • Increasing Virtual Memory
    • Re-installing games
    • De-fragmenting
    • Virus scan (No viruses / System faults)

    Any suggestions?

This might seem obvious but.. virus scan?
My bad, missed the virus-scan part.

Did you recently update drivers and then notice the problem?
If so maybe the newest version of a driver had problems.
This happened with my router, I'm using the 2nd newest firmware version because the newest actually made it function worse.

Also! It may be a hardware problem! Run some diagnostics or something? I dunno!

It occurred at some random time last week... I didn't do any updates that week or the week before that.

I'm pretty sure it's a hardware problem actually... Any links to diagnostics software?

Do a system recovery and go back to a couple of weeks ago, you might've installed something you didn't know about.

I am thinking it has something to do with the GPU or something like that, becuase it tends to happen when something happens on the screen. It used to happen when I got Nuke on Zombie mod (Lots of explosion sprites and effects) and when I was using the thunder gun, which is the most effect-heavy gun on zombie mod.

In the 1st screenshot, it happened at the exact same time as I leveled up on a flash game, making a little box appear on screen saying "Level up!".
In the 2nd screenshot, it happened at the exact same time that a steam friend of mine logged in.

    I re-formatted the hard-drive 3-4 days ago

But audiodg.exe does't use much CPU.. It's about 7% at most and that's when I play games, using Skype and Spotify at the same time.

Done. I'll test it now, thanks

How do I disable it so that I wont have to CTRL+ALT+DEL each time I restart the computer?
EDIT: Figured it out. RC on My Computer, Manage, Services and Blah, Services, Windows Event Log, Properties, Disable on startup.

Yeah, thanks. Let's hope this solves my problem

EDIT: The problem seems to be solved now!
Thank you so much tom99 Rep++!
I tested by turning on Spotify, Skype, Black Ops, Minecraft, Flash game and MSN at the same time, and nothing bad happened

Damn... Got the error today, but it's not as bad as it was before. It used to disconnect me from everything, but now only Black Ops crashed

    Triple-post bump

Alright, I've narrowed the problem down to the memory.

Off the 4GB installed memory, only 2,24GB of it is ever used. When I'm using 1,24GB of it, it says 1000 MB is free, meaning only 2,24GB at max.

So the problem is in the hardware... Is there any tests I can run so I'm sure that this is the case?

You could try taking them off, and putting them back in different order. You prolly should get a BSOD when windows loads.
There used to be something meaningful here.

Your screenshots of task manager shows total ram of 3GB?

    What OS?

    Check the resource monitor

    Eg.

    Physical Memory (MB)
    Total: 4095

Resource monitor shows 1793 In use, 2250 Available = 4043 Total

I'm on a laptop, so doing anything to the hardware would be a pain...

    I'm running Win7 Ultimate 32-bit

    Check this...

Start > msconfig (or run whatever)

Boot tab, click Advanced options and untick number of processors and maximum memory. Then Restart your pc.

    (Shouldn't you be running x64?)

Those weren't ticked, and to be honest I'm not sure if I should be running 64-bit or not... IIRC it was a 32-bit vista installed on it when I bought it

    Intel Core 2 Duo T5800
So you should be running x64.

    You've updated ALL drivers?.

    Checked dxdiag?

    Quick Info...

The sound lags really bad, is that ALL sound?. Windows media player? VLC (Movies) ?. MSN sign in sounds?.

Do you remember having updated anything when this happened?.

You able to reformat again? Do a fresh windows install with X64 and try and play music. (If you have already done this, does it still lag?)
