    Default Free Trade RWT Dectection

Im wondering how you guys think the RWT detection will work, because i assume the same thing will go for trading botted goods to main.

"#1 Im not sure how to word this so im going to give you a situation. One player named "bob" gets a gift (50m) from his friend that is quiting. Another player "billy" buys 50m gold from some RWT site. How can you tell the diffrence between a bob and a billy?

    Mod Fetzki:
The difference is that Bob won't get into trouble but Billy gets punished for cheating because we can tell the difference. We won't reveal how we do that though for obvious reasons. "

Well we know that Jagex can tell how long you've had someone on your friend list for. So that is probably something that will be in the equation.

If they were friends they'd proly have a convo for a while etc and be on the friendlist , interact with each other.

    ^This.

*Amount of time on friends list
    *have they interacted before
*combat lvls (higher lvl giving gold to lower lvl or other way around?)
    *chat/pms between the two accounts
*time each account has been logged in prior to the trade
    *ect...

Runescape security is very easy to predict if you just take a few minutes and think about how "you" would detect RWT if you were lead security staff.

I'd say if a character is repeatedly changing money for nothing they, and all their associates will get banned.

Gold farmer's workers trade some gold from lots of accounts to one account to consolidate money -> this account distributes the same gold to other accounts in even 1mil increments -> first accounts and middle account never buy or sell items -> all accounts associated together with the gold get banned.

Gold farmer gives away tons of cash to higher level players for free randomly, get them banned for RWT when the players they traded weren't intentionally RWT'ing, trollface?

true dat. We'll just have to see if jagex has something of their sleeves, or if they are just lying out of their ass (most likely)

I suspect that they will search for sellers, not buyers. If Joe, the account used by a real-world trading site, gives away 50m twice a week every week, then he is probably a distributer of goods purchased with real money. Then, they look at all the people who Joe has given 50m or an AGS or something. Bob, Rick, Dick, and Jane have all receive free stuff from Joe, so Joe, Bob, Rick, Dick, and Jane are all banned for breaking the RWT rule.

    Billy won't be playing anymore.

This. I guess you mean stake with stage?

Even dropping could probably bypass their detection.

I think staking would be the best option to do this, no risk of losing the money.

    Or:
Gold Farmer says: I be leaving this crap game, giving away 50m to 1 lucky person.
    Buyer says secret word: blubberdyblubberdymagicworksonwheels
Gold farmer says: I pick... the guy who said blubberdyblubberdymagicworksonwheels
    Here ya go.
Now how would they detect whether the guy has bought gold?
Unless their bots can now detect sarcasm :P

I do remember, years ago, they have a maximum of logs they can keep per server (I doubt it's even close to how little the logs used to be) but the place to trade was world 1 this way the logs would be gone quicker and it's harder to see with so many trades on that server... no idea about TODAY

They will track your botted accounts to your account. and what Icefire and Marpis said are the safest ways of doing this.

The pk ambush would be less detectable imo, my bot is going somewhere with money, my friend rushes him.

if the account that gave away the money continues to play, then they werent quitting. so if you do it, make sure you stop using those accounts for awhile if you do straight up trades

Simple as they can look the log up in search for the time played, how many hours have the character been skilling/making money, and many other factors, the same they would take into account before taking a decition to ban someone.

I can't really see them banning players just for trading, unless there is very strong evidence that it's RWT (chatlogs).
They also make money off of RWT, and they seem pretty desperate as of late.
