Default Another Maybe Useful Program For Some[Windows Only]

Hey guys, I've been using this little program for a while.

It essentially gives you multiple 'desktops'.

Every program you have open/in the taskbar for each desktop is only shown on that desktop.

It's useful for me because I auto with 2 Simba/2 Smarts open which for me (I use the windows classic theme) takes up a lot of space in my taskbar.

So with this program I have all of my normal things on desktop 1, and all of my simbas/smarts on desktop two, and periodically I just use hotkeys to navigate over and check on my bots.

If you use windows 7 default theme which groups similar programs and whatnot it might still be of use to you, since you will still have more room in your taskbar.

Give it a whirl! Ask questions if you have any, it's pretty user friendly though!

Sounds like a feature Linux has had since pre 2000...

On Windows I usually use dwm. It's not very useful if you're not used to it, though. http://www.brain-dump.org/projects/dwm-win32/

The best way to contact me is by email, which you can find on my website: http://wizzup.org
I also get email notifications of private messages, though.

Thanks YoHoJo this is actually really useful since I usually have a neXus and a bunch of Simbas running :S
Also Windows 7 puts all Simba instances in one tab which is irritating when you're scripting and have to select to proper instance of Simba every time you tab back from IRC etc.

Nice YoHoJo great find. Except I dont need to use this as ATI has a similiar feature to this.

ATI Users can now use the latest catalyst and if there graphics card supports it (im using the 5770) then they can have virtual windows open i believe its up to 4. or 8. not sure. but its basically the same thing like this.

This may be helpful for Nvidia users or users who dont have a nice graphics card.

Nice though!! I like the concept of both.

Oh really? Never knew that I have HD6800 I think.
So you're saying each 'desktop' is in it's own window though, kind of like a Virtual Machine? If so I like this program better because nothing's windowed, it's just like a 2nd (or 3rd or 4th or...th) fresh desktop.

    Yea its something like that.

Maybe not virtual but it clears whatever you have open in a widndow or in the taskbar and sets it side to another page. The only thing left is your icons.

Go through your catalyst settings i think by default there are like 4-5 functions disabled that you can play with! I enabled this feature on mine.

I have 11.2 but now that i look i think its only for x86 systems. this is a direct quote from ATI

Display Management- easily configure displays for optimal viewing, including multiple display configurations (extended, spanning, cloning if supported by the operating system) on every type of display (CRT, LCD, DFP, TV, HDTV). Drive up to three PC displays simultaneously with AMD SurroundView™.

My CCC supposedly has multi desktop and virtual desktop support but it didn't work when I enabled it (Win7 64 bit, I just get the pinging sound when trying to switch).

You may have downloaded the x86 one. Might try re-installing the x64 version. As i think the x64 bit isn't suppose to have it.

You can change the settings so that they're all separate, you're not stuck with it(i hated it too when i first started using win 7)
