    Default Webber - Web Development Project

    Webber

    What is webber?

    Webber is an application similar to Sumillion's Pathmaker which allows the design of Web Walking maps using a GUI. It then exports the code needed to Load the web in a WebWalking Include file (coming soon).

    How you can help

    Download and open Webber, load the WorldMap.png then open the WorldMap.web file. Start Creating!

    Things to come

    A neat way to bookmark nodes. It will export constants that refer to the specific node. eg.

    Simba Code:
    const
      W_VARROCK_EAST_BANK = 13;
      W_VARROCK_WEST_BANK = 24;

    The web walking include. This will find the nearest node and blind click to that and then follow the web with the shortest path to the target destination.

    On its way, I couldn't attach it here as there is a limit to .rar files.

    Fixed, I hadn't checked it enough with connections.

    v3 :

    @pyroryan, apologies for the rapidshare again. It's the only one that's working on my virtual machine. If you or anyone else could upload it to something else that'd be great. Also please could you remove the links from the previous version?

    Please don't use all of my bandwidth; other mirrors would be nice. But for pyro:

    link removed; no longer needed

    Sounds neat. Would this eventually be able to be used with SPS as well for those who prefer to use color methods? I'm interested to know more about the web walking include and if you'd like to see it separate or a part of SRL.

    I'll reupload it when I get back. But removed the links. Might want to remove them from your quote.

    I'd like to see the include becoming part of SRL.

    I would also like to see it use SPS and reflection to be optional. It is very easy to convert tiles to SPS pixels. I'm more of a fan of colour myself but I'm using reflection for the development stages. MSI could use it potentially to generate the path at the start of the script, store it and reverse it.

    @Zyt3x: Cheers it's actually made in Lazarus FPC, I don't know what that means about making it an extension for development.

    I will be releasing this open source later as well. Just got a few things to add.

    Would it be possible for me to write a function that records the tile players are at while using this and you put it in the source?
    I need to gather walkable tiles.

    Have a look at WorldMap.web, it's an XML file.

    I would just write a procedure in simba that records the title players are at then outputs it in the XML format. Then just open it in Webber and you will be able to view and edit the information collected.

    Yes it's because the world map is a super large image. No way of getting round that if your computer can't handle it I'm afraid. I've had this problem with Sumillions too so the problem isn't exclusive to mine.

    Yeah it took me around 4 hours to figure out why haha. I had to do some ugly coding to get round that one.

    Couldn't the map be broken up into a few sections? Then you wouldn't have to keep the entire map in memory.

    Maybe, this will be released as open source later on today so if anyone wishes to add that they can.
