    Default Got my ACT Scores.....

Here they are. JP's ACT Score

Are those good? Should I take it again?

I'm in Minnesota if that means anything, and I want to something with computers when I grow up.

That's pretty good. I got a 27 for my composite score and I am overly satisfied . Your scores are all pretty even which is a good thing... I think. I retook the ACT just because my English was a 20 . But I was pretty high and even in the rest of the subjects.

I would retake it just because I hear you do better the second time. It also helps to raise it a bit just to keep some of your options open. My brother got a 33, so he was able to really pick mostly anywhere he wanted.

I got a 34 my junior year of high school and did not have any issues getting all of my top choices. The issue became deciding.
If you're looking at the best colleges/universities, I'd retake it. Most people don't realize how big of a factor the ACT (Academically Challenged Test) and the SAT (Sexual Aptitude Test) really are.
If you're not, then you may not have to. I definitely would at least retake it in case you do better . The ACT gives you the option to send only one score and not the rest. The SAT sends all of your scores (this may have been in the process of being changed to giving you the option to send one score last year).

It depends one the school you are going to. Some schools require all while some just want 1 score.

I got a 1790 my first try. try on SAT. I wanna go to good schools like NYU. Should I retake?

I wish they would just use ACT, I did much better on it than the SAT.

It really depends on where you're applying. I don't know the specifics for NYU, but I'd imagine you could look up the statistics on average ACT/SAT scores for it. With that score, you're at around the 83 percentile, equivalent to about a 26 on the ACT.

I decided to look it up for you. For NYU: http://collegesearch.collegeboard.co...86&profileId=6
The page contains the scores of the middle 50% of accepted first-year students. If you're below that range, you definitely want to do better to give yourself a significantly better chance at being admitted.

Most people do better the 2nd or 3rd time they take it. I took it like 4 or 5 times and went from a 26 to a 34.

Not bad, until they make you take a standardized test for grad school, such as the MCAT. Then you can't take it that many times.

Grats! 24 is average. I got a 24 on my first shot, cheated on my second for a 28 and got a legit 30 on my last attempt. (no, I never got caught).

Not begin rude or anything but I believe that the results at the bottom for combined English/Writing are telling you that you need to learn how to write. Take it seriously I have peer edited papers in college that make me wonder how the author has managed to stay alive this long. If you want a tip on how to improve your writing i sugest you read a lot of classical and contemporary literature.

This. I'm a grammar nazi (Not online most of the time though, it just enrages me to see someone write that they were 'ascared of the monster')

The ACT is more problem solving than theory and concept, right? Therefore better for someone who is more logical + doesn't pay attention in class?

Score looks pretty good to me, but there's never anything to lose from taking it a second time, except a few hours of your life...

I got a 33 on it the first time around, so I never took a second ACT even though I probably should have.
Long ago, the '90s Nicktoons lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the century turned. Only Avatar, the best of the 2000's Nicktoons, could save them. But when the channel needed it most, the show finished. Four years passed and Mike and Bryan created the new Avatar: Legend of Korra. And although the show itself is great, it has a long way to go before it can live up to The Last Airbender. But I believe Korra can save Nickelodeon.

I did pretty well on my tests. I think it's important to go in with the right attitude. Don't be nervous. It's best to take the tests your junior year so you can retake them if you mess up.

Yea you did good.. average is down at 16 or 17 (which is horrible in my opinion) so at least you're far above average

Nice. My breakdown was 35 english, 36 math, 30 reading, 36 science. If I recall, I got 18 on the Arts/Lit and 14 on Social Studies/Sciences.
