Default Legal action against other bots

I was just wondering why there isn't any legal action taken against bots such as rsbuddy or rsbots.net. Don't get me wrong I support and use them and villavu (Although we don't "sell" bots), is it just jagex being lazy or some how they managed to legally avoid lawsuits?

rsbuddy is already in legal trouble with rsbot so I heard, and rsbots = nexus also got sued but no one knows what's happening in that case right now.

    O damn

So if any sites start selling em, jagex will try to sue them? Or thats not always the case and jagex lets a few off?

Those are the big players. If I were Jagex I would also try to get rid of them.

I believe GNU is sueing rsbuddy on rsbot's behalf

Well, it looks like Jagex lost the initial case. They will fight further, but ruler/geno have won the first round. More info somewhere on this board

It's the other way around, unless you're talking about a different case.

RSBuddy is being sued by GNU on behalf of RSBot.
Not sure if that's the case he was referring to...
RSBuddy is also trying to sue RSBot, but it appears so far the attempts have been failing.

for RSBuddy vs Paris see: http://rsbuddy.com/forum/blog-legal-...ris-40867.html

not sure a good link for info about RSBuddy being sued...

Do you have any online references about this, if any exist? I'd be interested in seeing the claims made and evidence used.

For what? I'm aware that RSBuddy has taken legal action against Paris for defamation and related matters, but I haven't been made aware of any action against RSBot.

I talked with Jacmob today, and he said that there was no lawsuit regarding GNU or the FSF and RSBuddy. Perhaps the lawsuit is just a rumor or hasn't been initiated yet.

Well I heard from Timer that RSBot was suing RSBuddy (GNU was suing RSBuddy for RSBot), so it probably was a rumor.

I think SRL should just sue everybody. We could all get into one big circle of suing and sue till theres nothing left of any of us. Then all our money from the lawsuit kicks in and we realize nothing happened >.>. GO TEAM EDWARD!

I think it has something to do with them tampering the actual runescape client

    You should be shot.

Also, I don't keep up with the javabot drama; why is errbody suing errbody?
Long ago, the '90s Nicktoons lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the century turned. Only Avatar, the best of the 2000's Nicktoons, could save them. But when the channel needed it most, the show finished. Four years passed and Mike and Bryan created the new Avatar: Legend of Korra. And although the show itself is great, it has a long way to go before it can live up to The Last Airbender. But I believe Korra can save Nickelodeon.

I don't keep up on vampire movies... they are whack.
I think JaGeX should be sueing everyone except us. We are just kind and smart. Other places just want money.

Yep yep. We don't charge money or anything, we are 100% open source, we are not modifying Runescape clients, and we're aimed not just at Runescape scripting, but using SRL for practical reasons. SRL wouldn't be an easy target for Jagex.
