SRL Banner/Favicon [NEW]

yea, idk. i tried putting "SRL" in the favicon above, but it was rather crammed. The S looks good enough for me since most graphics will just look not as good small (the gear looks good in what i assume is 32x32, but in the smallest one it does look like a target.)

The larger one is 48x48, while it does look somewhat like a target you can see the teeth still. I don't know. So you were trying to stick "SRL" into the gear?

Eh, use the Srl dev cup as the favicon? It looks cool enough.

If nothing else I think the Smallest one on this set looks good. Gears are going to be impossible to have as a Icon because of the teeth.

I think it's too hard to tell what it is.

I think if Frement's (the current one) is just edited a little bit to be a little thicker/good on any background colour, we'd be good to go.

Thicker yes, but not yours. No offense, but I like Frement's better. They're similar, though. I think yours is a little too thick and I don't like the ball in the middle.

well i dont see what the point in going with frement's would be...if his icon isnt the one being put into the banner. if the banner icon doesnt look nice in the favicon, then putting an S seems like the best idea. Having two different icons makes no sense if you want SRL to have a logo.

In my opinion this is not about winning or losing, this is of getting the best favicon/symbol/icon and banner that we can get.

well so far it has seemed like people have been wanting to ignore the actual winner, and put up a different one. I mean you could just do a re-vote to see if the opinion has changed, but then whats stopping you from doing so a month from NOW. Doing a revote just seems silly to me since one was already voted in. Problem that we are at now if that so far most of the vfavicons look subpar because of how small they are. Which is why i quite liked because it doesn't really contradict the actual banner, but rather shows that you're on Srl, whereas if you have two different real images like the triangle and a cog, like the situation we kind of have right now, it would kind of be conflicting as to which was the actual image that is supposed to represent srl.

So i don't really see the problem.

I agree with Dan. A re-vote is just counter productive and we're not really getting anywhere as everyone wants something different. Since it was voted on, Dervish's banner should be put into place now (in the middle of the screen preferably). The gear doesn't look the best as a favicon and the triangle looks shitty on dark background colors.

I think the S should just be used. If need be, it could be put into the background of the banner, but I really don't think that's necessary.

yes. the s is just the s in srl, no need to make it significant. Favicon's only purpose is for identifying tabs.

That also allows us to use Dervish's banner (since it was the one voted). I don't think there's any reason we have to have part of the banner as the favicon.



I think the best time to implement these and the introduction page would be when we switch from vBulletin.

That's a question for Wizzup. I suppose the banner and favicon could be easily done at any time.
