    Default Internet Accelorators?

Anyone know of a good program that generally helps boost your speed? I have cable internet, and have a "browser" accelerator but I'm looking for something that generally speeds up everything, whether it be downloading torrents or gaming online. Anyone know any?

What exactly does this program do, and have you noted any differences in before/after speeds?

I personally used on it my really old comp and the speed increase was noticeable but not too much(its like ~15 years old)

YES! google TCP Optinizer. Read the forum/tutorials and run the program.
You can save your before/after settings and compare Internet speeds to god what works best for you. Pretty much the best out there. No super huge improvements for me as my net was already as smooth and fast as could be, but lots of good user results/testimonials.

Ok I'm checking out TCP optimizer now, see as its not an install program, do I need to start this everytime I want the increased speed, or I just change the setting and then they will stay permanent?

All TCP Optimizer does is to change edit some registry keys, so one time run would be enough (unless some other program changes the same keys frequently too)

Ok I ran it and did just did the automatic changes it has, and it had a slight increase. But definitely didn't have a big difference as the pictures you showed of yours. Thanks.

That is not an improvement. The change is negligible.

To be frank, I don't really 'believe' in this TCP optimizer. To me it's like getting quality increases in a picture or song by increasing the size/bit rate. Just because your 50x50 image is now 500x500 doesn't mean it's better. It really just makes it worse. You're trying to get information from nowhere, which isn't how things work (today).

If you need better Internet, there's not much you can do besides pay for better Internet or optimize stuff on pages and cache everything you can.

For increase speed for torrents, good luck. It has more to do with the seed pool and all that (not a torrent guru, sorry). And for gaming, just don't have background stuff running. Have your AV be in 'gaming mode' if it has one, or just turn it off when you game.

    Flame on.
