    Default Good Router

Hi all! I am wondering if anyone has any good recommendations for a good gaming router and something that can use Wake-on-LAN. The router I have is currently from my ISP (Comcast) and it sucks. I've looked through every website for alternate firmware such as DD-WRT and Tomato and none of them support my router. I had an old router that I did change the firmware to DD-WRT but it is now broken... =(

Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

Great question dude, I have researched this before. I found a good review for good throughput through the router (A big deal I think, since my crappy router is like max 2MB/s): http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...oint,2605.html

Most of those should be DD-WRT or Tomato compatible but definitely double check.

Linksys WRT54GL has never failed me. I bought a n router but ended up going back to this 2/3 year old router.

I actually think this was my old router :O. It's pretty decent but I'd prefer a n router.

EDIT: Btw, anyone else have like half of your routers or more broken because of a power outage? Idk. It seems a lot of my routers have died because of a power surge or something...

Ahh, for higher speed wireless I'm using D-Link DIR-615-C1, I got it on sale for $20 during a Black Friday. With DD-WRT its working much better... but I can't really recommend it. I'll be using a new Netgear router at work soon, I'll let you know if it works good. (already know the customer support sux tho =/ )

With mine running on tomato I'll get around 70MB/s average.. wireless I get around 10-20MB/s depending on time of day since neighbors have wireless traffic too.. I run on a 40mhz wave length and the lowest I've seen my wireless hit was 130mbps.. so it's usually pretty awesome
