    Default Reducing lag in runescape?

Whenever I play, I don't know if it's because my graphics card broke and I'm using an onboard chip or if my internet is just slow, but I play on the lowest ping world and it seems to lag alot on me. 1-2 second delay on movements/actions communicated to the server. How can I reduce this?

Are you downloading/updating anything? Maybe you have MSN/Yahoo running?

Go to graphic options -> custom -> and make sure its on software/opengl/or directx. It gets switched to safe mode for me when botting and is very laggy outside of smart.

Apart from using the lowest specs available, use SMART and bring down teh slider on the right to very low. Just make sure it's not too choppy.

If you are just using the Java plugin, perhaps try using a different version. OpenJDK or IcedTea. Just an option.

Also, make sure you're on OGL, it always helps me.

Make sure the server doesn't have high ping would be first step..

then OGL would be the best thing you could do to reduce lag.. while running low specs

OGL is OpenGL, or Open Graphics Library, which comes on almost any GNU/Linux distro (besides ones you have to build yourself, such as arch or gentoo (you don't have to build gentoo, but cool kids do)). And for icedtea, just open a command prompt and install icedtea-plugin (whatever package manager should have it).

    Turn off Talkback in Firefox.
If you are using High Detail mode and Mozilla Firefox, you might want to turn off Talkback. This is an add-on that sends information about crashes back to Mozilla. There is a known bug with Talkback which can significantly slow down Java programs using OpenGL. Select 'Tools' from the menu, then 'Add-ons' and disable Talkback from the list.
