Thread: simplicity?

    Default simplicity?

since i have no idea how hard is to build bots like that (im comming from reflection bots), would be possible to make it much easier to start and everything? kinda like rsbots, where you dont have to edit all that stuff to get it working.

dont get me wrong im just asking if it is possible to make it easier to use?

That's not true. It's 'harder' because we're a software community based on learning, not on botting.

But, there may be an account manager at some point. The script manager seems to be doing quite well, too.

Look into MSI, that will probably fit you better. This tutorial will get you going!

Welcome to srl hope you enjoy your stay.
simba is not harder to bot with than rsbot its just different. whenever you come across of anything hard just go ahead and ask in the help section
Also (this might has changed since last time i botted but w/e) rsbot got a wide variety of scripts to do anything while srl lack quite a bunch, that means you are pretty much on your own to script what you need but don't worry its not that hard

And @hello you, you're coming into this community to use our scripts, and you don't care enough to look into our views on paying for software. We don't do that here. You contribute by learning and helping others, not by waving cash around.

That is no way at all to treat a new member. Yes our community is based around knowledge and helping others, but part of the community has to actually "use" the scripts we make to make it worthwhile. We need all types of people to have a successful community.

Let's everyone cool down a bit. Our community is a vastly different culture than they are used to. They will either learn soon or they will not like our ways and leave. Simple as that. Its not like they are doing this to annoy us, they dont know any better. Its not worth getting upset over.

We work with user-helpful programs, rather than user-friendly. Its a shift people are going to need to make. But its for the better.

Also, we are trying to make it more user friendly, give it time.

Sorry I became heated. @xja if you need help with anything you've already searched into and were unable to find anything, just ask. I guess this applies to all new members as well.

I don't mean to offend anyone coming from RSBuddy, but I would hate to see the SRL community become anything like RSBuddy's. It seems that the scripts in RSBuddy were to easy to use and required absolute 0 effort from the user, that the whole community lost the ability to practice independent thinking and were unable to think outside the box.

If I can use SRL scripts, then ANYONE can use them if they spend 15 minutes to think about what they are doing. I am a complete idiot when it comes to computers, (let alone scripting) so when I'm able to use something it can't be that complex.

    Once again, no offense intended.

yes it is possible, the closest that i have seen is like one of my scripts (currently being updated)

simply you open the script and click play, then a form will pop up where you can put in all your details. if the developer is willing to do something like that then they can

tl;dr it is possible, just most of us dont do it

You know, we're just a bunch of code hackers. People care about usability, but first it should work, the user-friendliness gets saved for another day (which never comes).
But MSI and a few other scripts show it can be done, and the script manager should further simplify it.
I made a new script, check it out!.
