Default Motherboard 128 Degrees Celsius hot

Speccy is telling me my mobo is idling at 130 Degrees C, and even when I turned the computer off, and let it stay overnight, it said 128 Degrees right after I started it up, but it's cold to the touch, and none of the heatsink metal stuff sticking out of the mobo are hot (It's about 12 degrees C down here, so the computer has a cold environment)

I have the ASUS Sabertooth P67, can I assume this is a failure in the heat-measurement component or should I worry about it?

You should probably worry about it.. but try updating your BIOS?

I would use that as a last measurement because you can possibly mess up your computer... wait for others input

Use your fingers , let it run for 30 min, Turn it off, unplug the power cable, wait 20 seconds, and use your fingers and and feel the temperature ?

I have this problem on my old pc, it changed from -2 to 80 from time to time, so just like nielsie95 said, you shouldn't worry about that.

I did that, and it surely doesn't feel like 128 degrees (more like 25-30).

I'll try updating my BIOS, nava

And thanks nielsie, I'm not really that worried because it doesn't feel hot at all

The problem is that the P67 has a thermal-shield that is covering the mobo itself, so it's hard to tell the temperature...

But everything else is running at 30-40 degrees (my CPU is at 36 at the moment)

Do not worry at all, i have the same problem with speccy. it tells me my ssd is 128 degrees also. I
f there isn't a sensor it can find available(possibly not installed latest chipset drivers?) it will show 128 degrees.

The bios might have a temp sensor readout. Check that out. Maybe the fault is within speccy.

I see! it does sort of make sense as it probably uses a byte for each of the temperature values (signed byte)... (?)

Hmm.. I'll try searching for a driver now

I noticed the same thing for mine too recently nothing to worry about if it's cool to touch (although mobos have multiple mobo temp readings make sure you're touching right place). It's a problem with the temp sensor and it's quite common I have same issue with one of my mobo temp readings.
