    Default Worth releasing?

Working on a fairly simple script for making about 600k to 1m an hour. Question is, Is it worth releasing or will it mess up the profits completely? Has some requirements but does not give experience.

If it can be abused, it will be abused, if the gold farmers know it, i bet they will pounce on the chance, so i suggest you keep it a secret.

If you don't want to risk the method/prices getting messed up I would not release it to all players at least.
I'd either keep it to myself, if you think it's good enough use it to apply to SRL members, if you don't then make a script worthy of getting you SRL member, apply, and then release it to members only.

Up to you. I think releasing in public and not to just members has a good chance of screwing up your good profits.

What they left out is if you don't care about the $$$ then release it. I had a drink buyer a few months ago and I didn't really care about the gp so I released it....

As a script user: Yes, I would love to make that kind of money.
As a script writer: No, you spent the time making the script, you should reap the benefit.

It depends whether releasing it would make the GP/h drop. Some methods can stay stable even with a lot of people using them.

Also, if the requirements for this method take a while to achieve - then it's not likely to be used by gold farmers.

If you look at the different scripts available in SRL - there's not too many downloads on any of them to really effect GP/h..

But, it's up to you I guess.

Not worth it, scripts that can be used for farming should not be out for public to use for their farming needs to make $.

Sadly, everyone is very correct in saying not to release it to the public

If possible, a 'light' version could be released to the public, and the full to Members+. I was thinking of doing the light/full thing for my Papaya Plunderer, but I'm not sure yet.

You should, or just not release it to pub. Lite/Full just seems like a great concept from the start.

Hey guys, I appreciate the feedback. As to using it to apply to SRL member, I don't think its good enough to use it to apply because of the simplicity. I've made it before in a different client previously known as RSB and used it to make over 150m but its pretty much based on g.e prices. There wouldn't be any significant difference between a light or full version because all it really does is withdraw items, does what it does, deposits and repeats. Also, I recently came back to the community and reflection seems to be down. Is it worth using color and DTM's or wait?

    Thanks guys!

reflection has been killed. i doubt there are any ref bots out there, so you have to make do with color.

To elaborate, since color bots are the only ones around everyone is looking in our public scripts folder to make them money. If your method involves selling stuff to the GE, don't release it because it will be screwed - prices will plummet, guaranteed. If it doesn't, then you can release it with better conscious but it will still be heavily abused and therefore may be targeted and nerfed by Jagex.

yes, I considered all of the opinions, I decided to release it to SRL members only but not to apply to it because I havn't been fully active on the site. But when I come up with another great idea I will apply.

    Thanks guys

Do not discount yourself, if you want, I can take a peek at it and tell you if you should apply.

    Of course release it!
It'll take quite a bit time to get it abused ...

Nava2, I'll send it to you prior to using it to apply to take a look over it.

P1nky, I decided not to release it publicly.

    Thanks =)

Put together another useful script which won't really be abused that much and include everything and all of your knowledge of SRL into it, apply for SRL-Members, and release it to the actual mature Members of the community who won't be abusing it.

well guys, after about 25 hours of testing I decided NOT to release the script. Even if I release to members, It'll be widely abused. Makes about 2.4m/h. If I use it to apply for members, will it be publicly shown? Or only to the person reviewing the script?

Only the Members+ will be able to see it, no one else. However, if you don't feel comfortable letting all of Members+ see it, you can PM YoHoJo explaining the situation and he will be able to help you out

Kyle, would you happen to know if there are any scripts that use the grand exchange to buy an item when it runs out of supply? Mine is working pretty good, but I don't have any failsafes for the function. I'd like to take a look at something to give me a idea of a fair failsafe. When filling out player information, Theres a section to add the maximum price you want to buy the item in the G.e. and I wouldnt want it to mess up the number if you know what I mean.

I didn't really feel like looking through all the scripts, so I'm going to brainstorm and finish that up this weekend. Is YoHoJo in charge of applications?

No but we've had similar types of situations in the past.
