    Default About UID...

is it normally just 4 bytes? i really dont understand how it can store all the information for all your accounts in just 4 bytes, is it supposed to be more than 4 bytes? have i been deleting fake ones? why are there 3 temp internet storage folders that have uid's in them? anyone know? thanks...

It's not storing information about your characters.

It's a number that is randomly generated once, and stored on your computer, that is intended to identify your computer to Jagex. (So they don't have to limit logins by IP, because many people use a single IP from a gateway or w/e).

So Regecks, what do you think about deleting UID between switching players? Is it potentially harmful?

Imo it'd make much more sense to have a separate (but constant!) uid for each character, that way it's consistent rather than random every time.

    (Or play unsigned).

Both are going to attract attention anyway, so QQ.

lol. What about changing the number?

Accept that the waters around you have grown.

Just the filename needs to be changed. For example, you delete uid, log in with Autoer1, a new UID is created. That UID holds a number, say 1234567. Then Autoer1 logs out, and the UID is renamed to UID1. Then Autoer2 logs in, and since there is no file called UID, a new one is created with a different number, say 765432, indicating a different computer. This is now renamed to UID2 when Auoter2 logs out. The next time Autoer1 logs in, right before it logs in, UID1 is renamed to UID. So RS uses 1234567 as the number, indicating that Autoer1 is playing on the same computer as he was before (not a different one as deleting would) and its different to the number Autoer2 was on. Catch my drift?

I understand.. Problem would be is the naming, so maybe you could put it all into a temp file, or even an potential new section of SRL which stores an individual UID file for each character which has been logged in !
