Need Help with Java and VM

    Hi,
I just made a virtual machine and got it all set up. I can auto on it fine. The frustrating part is, when I have runescape opened in the vm...the runescape client I open on my regular machine is just a white box where the applet should be. I have tried different combinations of unsigned, sun and microsoft java, but none of these fixed the problem.

This also happened when I didnt have virtual machine. When I was playing rs and tried to load the world map...it would never load. I think its the java I have, but I dont know a solution, please help, thankyou.

my java version is---java 2 platform standard edition Version 1.5.0 (build 1.5.0_10-b03)

    thanks,
    mikev

Well...I've experienced close to the same problem before; but I really don't know how to solve it...maybe try it on a different computer and see what happens?

thanks for the suggestion but im looking for a crisp rational solution. There must be some setting in the console or something that I need to adjust....IDK...I tried googleing it but I came out pretty empty handed.

    still need help

It could be due to a lack of RAM. When you start up your virtual machine, it 'steals' a chunk of RAM from the system. If your system doesn't have enough RAM left over you may not be able to load the Java applet.

Does it do this when the VM is open, but does not have the RS applet loaded?

How much total RAM do you have, and how much did you allocate to your VM?

im fairly sure that 1.5.0_10-b03 was an experimental beta version, when i had that one, runescape couldnt work on SCSS, but now its updated and everything works fine

i think the problem could be that you need to update your java again

thanks yakman, I did as you told me to. It seemed to help solve the problem...lemme explain. Now I can open an rs applet in my VM and also in my host machine. I dont get a white screen anymore but both become so laggy, it is impossible to play. the lag is so bad that the character logs out inbetween frames :/

any other suggest?....I wish I knew more about java. I went to the book store and saw an entire isle filled with huge tomes about JAVA....i left the store feeling really inadequit. :P

Please keep trying to help, I really appreciate it!
