Yup, the vote will still count. I voted no.

There is a point to this.

First and foremost, this proposition will give us, the current Junior Members, a sense of unity in forming part of a large group who can come together with new ideas and aim to achieve the rank of SRL-Member.

It would also increase the prestige of SRL Members, who may feel intellectually responsible for instructing their "Juniors." In turn, Members will seek to reach out to us juniors, get to know us better, distinguish us from fellow leechers, and strengthen the frail bond between these two groups, Members and Juniors.

Most importantly, the implementation of a Junior Member's section will rebuild the lost or even non-existent feeling of pride and accomplishment for Junior Members, who would like to see themselves as active and recognized members of this community. It will give Junior Members something to look forward to and in this way motivate non-Juniors to truly become active in this online family and seek to contribute to the community .

And no, the votes will not count if you do not explain why you voted "no" I made time to make this thread, and if you can't even explain why you voted no on the poll, then it should not be counted.

You can't decide that... The poll show what people think, and you can't interfere with that, no matter how much you are against us saying "no". If your logic were to work, the world would be a horrible place. And also, then you'd have to remove 30+ of the yes votes due to all the leechers not elaborating why they want the section.

Technically none of the votes count as we've already been discussing this for a while now in staff section.

There are a number of changes coming up that we are trying to coordinate to release at all the same time.

Even if the votes don't matter.... I still think this would be a good idea becasue Then people I feel would have more to work up for and like previously stated it WOULD reduce leeching. Hope someone decides something

The way i see it is Jr. members are people that the higher ranked community has accepted and believes they have the potential to bring out some great things and most importantly develop their skills instead of just leeching. So YES there should be a junior members sections in my opinion.

I agree with you 100%. It helps people like me strive to become more affiliated with the forum.

i also agree there should be a junior members section, for one it can have scripts like members have (not saying the same scripts, but lets say you want to release a script but not for the public, but for the true community, this way you have 1 more than just members or private), second it will make members be interested with their juniors and help them improve, and help them get that member status

since i cam to the community i have been learning, helping with what i know and being a community kinda guy

Note we believe every user has the potential. Junior members are just users who have proven themselves to be a asset to the community by either a certain postcount and longevity or by being voted in by the higher boards.

Precisely, which is why they should formally be accepted and recognized as an active group.

I enjoyed the junior member section back in 2007-08. In my opinion there were a lot less leachers due to the fact that the public scripts at the time were basically made to weed out the leacher's. They all needed work or had terrible antiban. While the junior member scripts were better, they still didn't live up to member scripts. Allowing jr members to strive and work harder to be member's and give the forum an opportunity to weed out leacher's due to having to put effort in to become a Jr. Member. I was dissapointed to have put so much effort and scripting in year's ago, to come back and basically be considered a leacher. This is just my opinion however.

It is a good idea, I voted yes. More people would want to be junior member. Junior members use to be people who has contributed to the forums so this would be a good compensation for them

I think it is a very good idea but....

It would greatly reduce the quality of our public scripts. This would give visitors an impression that Simba is crappy and thus reduce the number of people actually joining this forum or staying active.

The last thing we want is people who don't contribute and leech.

This is true, however I assume most people were leeches at one point. Most people usually begin learning to script when they realize how useful it could be to have their own scripts that benefit them. If the public scripts are crappy, wouldn't that just push more people to other sites, and ultimately lose people who would learn to script and contribute eventually?

We will have a free script section we will allow leeching, and a juniormember section, followed by SRL, followed by SSRL, followed by SRL Dev.
