Default Deciding on which type of pure to make.

I have an account with 40 att, 60 str, 1 def, 1 pray etc all 1.
Deciding what to do with it.
What stats to raise? Keep 1 def pure then what raise pray or ranged or what?
Keeping it f2p for now maybe p2p in the future.
Sorry just back to rs from a big break so no idea what's good now.

I "had" a 1 def pure until Harry made me test one of his scripts -.- so now I'm making it into a zerker pure

Also building a def pure as we speak

Whats a chaotic maul pure? I'm guessing 85 dung, high att/str/mage, 1 def?

Exclamation Pures - I just don't get them

Can anyone explain to me the the purpose of 'pures'. I just don't get it.

Is it not just a case of selective training ? How difficult can that be ?

Or are the known / acknowledge types of 'pures' that are difficult to do ?

I'm sure that you can tell from my questions that I am clueless. Please educate me ? Thx!

Pures are accounts that minimize combat level while keeping high strength or mage or range to give a high dps while having a low combat level. Defence is considered useless as almost everything can be prayed against, therefore defence and sometimes prayer is kept as low as possible. These accounts are used for PKing or staking.

@OP; If you have the funds, make a 30/40/45 def turm pure.

If you want an account that is great at pking AND you can do almost everything as effectively as a main, go for a ranged
tank. A 80 strength, 68 attack, 99 defence, 99 ranged, 99 prayer, 99 lp, 99 mage and 99/96 summoning account is considered a 'complete' pker/tank. It has the ability to use chaotics, spirit shields, handcanon and almost ALL equipment available. This is the account I would recommend to you if you have about half a year of time (18 hours legit playtime and 40 hours of botting per week) to make a pker.

A 60 atk, 80+ str, 25/43 pray, 1 def pure is fun too.

An 80 attack, 90+ strength 1 def pure with chaotic rapier -> chaotic maul combo works well too.

Edit: The range tank is supposed to have 80 atk and 68 str. Typed it the other way around

    Smile 'Pure' noob

I've only been playing RS for 18 months now, but some folk have been at this for 10 yrs. You've given me plenty to digest, and to get a better understanding of 'pures'. Thx!

If you wont be p2p do it 2h/ ranger with 31 pray and 1 def.
    For p2p I would go for 1 def 60 att 52 pray or 20-30 def 95 pray

Pretty sure you mean the range/2h is f2p.

30 def is minimum for turmoil, unless you want 95 prayer just for heck of it, aka no curses.

you're going to need 80 dungeoneering these days for a sick bot.

do 80 attack 99 str, turmoil(which means like 30 some def) and make sure to have vengeance.

you'll be like lvl 100 combat, and everyone wears barrows. but your insane hits + veng will kill everyone easily.

    Watch out for rushers.

80 str 68 atk? And can use chaotics? What? (I'm actually creating this type of account as I speak, except with 80 atk and 70 str and probably only 77 prayer for rigour)

I'm pretty sure that your combat will no longer be ranged based after 68 strength

Its 74 prayer for rigour btw.

Just checked, and I won't be range based, but it won't bring my up combat level either. I'm pretty sure you meant 80 atk and 68 str not 68 atk and 80 str though.

Oh, and the prayer.. I forgot, meant to get 77 for Augury too.. But whatever. Might get 95 or 99 eventually.

New school pures should be all maxed out.
    99 str/range/mage/hp.

Straight up man, so hard these days in wilderness (talking with experience).
