    Default Battlefield 3... Freezing.

I finally decided to try a game that actually requires quite a bit of power. I've never tried any games that require alot from a pc until now. I've played BF3 on xbox and wanted to try out 64 player multiplayer on the pc. The game runs just as smooth and just as in detail as it does on xbox in campaign on my pc...

    Specs:
    AMD Phenom II X4 925 2.8GHz
    6GB DDR3 1333Mhz RAM
    ATI HD Radeon 5570 1GB

The graphics in campaign are in high detail and have no problems. However, in multiplayer I set the graphics to low and the terrain would appear as black in some spots and within 2-5 minutes, the game would freeze. I know this has something to do with the graphics card but according to people on youtube and some forum readings, the 5570 can run on a medium setting in multiplayer with no problems. Now the multiplayer matches will freeze on the loading screen.

I know the card is not very good, but as I have read from it SHOULD work. I'm new to PC gaming so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Battlefield 3 is really bad. EA ruined a good series. Tons of bugs they refuse to fix and such.

Run AMD CCC (or whatever they call it now of days) to check how much your GPU is using, and task manager or similar to see how much your CPU is using. Should be simple to see what one is the main bottlekneck, but to be honest you will get bored of BF3's multiplayer pretty quick. :\

I like hitting tanks with rockets though But yeah, BF3 multi is boring unless you get to play with your friends.

I was a hardcore COD fan until the MW series finally came to an end.

EA's Origin caught me with a 50% special xD

I can't find anything about the GPU through the ATI CCC control center. The CPU isn't having any problems.
With campaign running it stays at an average 30%

Have you overclocked anything? CPU? Ram? Gpu?
Also make sure your drivers for gfx card are up to date.

No. I've always heard it can shorten the lifespan so I've never resorted to it. Although I wouldn't mind overclocking my GPU but I can't find the options for it like ALL of the ATI sites say there is on the CCC...

Must be a bf3 problem then.
I'd resort to their forms and submitting some kind of crash report or something.

And yeah CCC has a couple sliders in it to overclock. I've ha very little luck OCib my specific gfx card, but OC my RAM/CPU a lot and love it!

As long as you keep temps reasonable, and voltages near stock OCing is just fine!

After starting up my computer today, the game runs fine o.O
I updated my card right when I got the game, but it didn't ever prompt me to reboot.
I rebooted my PC when I got the game but not after I updated the card, so I didn't think of it. I feel quite stupid... But than again.. It should of prompted to shut down, and shouldn't the graphics on my PC gone to crap after the update? xD

You could try posting in the forums just off the Battlelog, a lot of fans that may be experiencing your issues there too
