I'm from Dunedin, New Zealand. We have possibly the greatest and worst drinking culture you could ever imagine. Locally we have a University and a Polytechnic which host education to 30,000 students. Majority live in one area of Dunedin which results in quite entertaining but eventful parties.
Last Saturday was our yearly 'Hyde Street Keg Party' which hosts the largest amount of students in one street for an all out day of binge drinking, loud music, bands and lurking police. A total of 5,000+ scarfies(local term for Dunedin students) attended and it resulted in one hell of a day. Started at 5:30am and ended at around 5pm. Not too bad of an effort.
My personal experience from the day, ended with me drinking 20 cans of Jim Beam and coke, being shouted a cap of ecstasy and some BZP. Due to the video below, the party was shut down due to too many students on the roofs, well when I say shut down I mean they blocked the ends to stop anyone else getting in. Fortunately for me a friend of mine lives parallel to the street and his back door leads right to Hyde street, where the action was. This resulted in us letting a good few hundred students through the flat and back to the party.

My question to you is, whats your communities drinking culture like? Tell us a story![]()
