Default Creating website, any suggestions on layouts?

Can anyone steer me in the right direction for a website of a golf course? I worked for one and my old boss called me up and is paying me to create it. Does anyone have any suggestions on good templates or anything?

Feel free to post anything, I'm completely open for suggestions. Thanks.

When I'm out of ideas, I like to peruse websites with similar subjects and examine what techniques they used. Just a suggestion

Just Google "golf course" and see how other sites are doing it

Do a ground level view of a mid-day golf course at the green. When I'm golfing thats the best view for me- I'm sure others have similar thoughts.

Make sure to use HTML 5 and CSS 3. It'll be fantastic.

If you want you could hot link photoshop images, thus it will look stunner and I am sure the employer won't see the difference in speed etc.

The challenge for creating any website is to make the design professional while following a theme.

No image should look forced into the design, otherwise it begins to look like it did in 1998 with the glitter and flashes. As for specific design, my preference is always to start with the very minimal. A white/light gray with one accent colour design, with no pictures in it.
Create the shell and build onto it; obviously working with the golf course opens up the nice ability to use a shot of the golf course which has the ability to look really nice.

Don't overdo it. Vague advice, I know, but it's my process each time I create a site-design, unless the person has something in mind specifically.
