They're DESPERATE.

They put so much money into destroying bots, but what they didn't know was, bots bring in more revenue (Membership) than anything else in the game!

Ya, bot bring revenue, but botting also bring bad points. They took action, because bots were ruling this game before the bot nuke. Seriously, 1 out of 2 player was a bot before nuke... This bring us to the point where, after everyone get 99 in every skills after 1 and a half years, this game would be dead since players would had stop to play this game since there is nothing else to do.

Now, how games like runescape live and stay for soo long like World of Warcraft that try as hard as they can to maintain people? New Contents and Trying to make the game as long as they can to keep people and bring back new contents to make them even stay longer, but if they allow bot to run all over the place, it will also cause the end of the game, since when people will be done with botting, they will also leave since the goal of this game is to be maxed and get the best gear available. Well, lets people bot for 2 years without doing anything 24h/24h and I guarantee their wont be that much people left in 2 years.

Agreed. Goldfarming and selling money for IRL cash was and still is the problem, not botting.

There's a game called WYD (With Your Destiny) and I haven't played it in some time, but it has a built in botting feature to let you AFK train. Jagex should do that, since it would only let you train skills.

There would have to be a strict limit on it though...they'd never do that because it'd be unfair to players who (supposedly) work hard legitimately, like SUOMI.

insight venture partners bought most of jagex a while ago, back in december-january actually.
And it wasnt just insight, there were about 1-2 other investment groups. Their stocks are private, if i reckon correctly

EDIT:

Not sure if anyone knows this, but they've also added video advertisements to free to play players. Every time you hop worlds.

I have herd that the "paying" goldfarmers are using stolen credit card details so at the end of the day Jagex had to refund the money back onto the credit cards meaning they lose money... Don't quote me on that, it was just something I herd.
