Default NEw SPS Path Gen, open source, cross platform

    Update 9/1/2016

My utility may not work well with the new updates to SPS, however someone( I think TheMayor) updated mine, and has released the source and jar executable here

    ----

I've been working on a new version of wolygons path maker. This one is written, in java, so it is cross platform.

    Features:
    • Copies the generated path and area declaration directly to your clipboard.
    • Can load different maps into the program.
    • Can manually tell the program to repaint itself, in-case something weird happens.
    • Can Reorder, move, and remove points previously created.
    • A mini-map for easy navigation. Click where you want the view to move to.
    • Holding control down, while dragging to move the view, will make it drag 5x faster, so you can move the view more efficiently. Don't need to spend 10 minutes dragging across to the other side of the map.
    • A list of locations you can jump to
    • Fully configureable
    • save paths for later use or editing
    • jump view to any point in list by right clicking

The program is also fully configurable, and you can set the color for the points and lines, the distance at which two points are considered to far apart, the darkness for the 'spotlight effect' around the selected point(s)

It will now also remember all of your settings, and the path to the last image file you loaded, so you can work much faster.

This program also features a 'minimap', for quick navigation across the rs map. Just click anywhere on the minimap, and the program will move the view to that location.

Straight from the Programs Help screen:
    Navigation
You can move the view around by clicking or dragging the mouse on the minimap, in the top right corner, or you can drag the map view around with the right mouse button.
    Adding points to your path
To add a point, click in the view area. You can adjust the location of any point in your path, by right clicking it in the list, and clicking the new point on the view. You can also reorder your points by right clicking a point in the list, and entering its new index. You can also clear all points from your path by choosing Path -> Clear Path
    Loading your map
To load a map, choose Image -> Load different map. If changes are made to the map externally, you can update it by choosing Image -> Reload map
    Saving your paths
You can save your path by choosing Path -> Save Path, and load them later, with the Path -> Load Path menu item.
    Settings
    • Max Line Length: This controls how far apart two points can be, before they are considered too far apart and displayed as dotted lines
    • Fog Opacity: The density of the fog, surrounding the selected point(s)
    • Line Color: The color of lines between points that are not too distant,as determined by the Max Line Length value
    • Warning Line color: The color of lines between points that are too distant, as determined by the Max Line Length value
    • Point color: The color of all points, excluding the currently selected point
    • Selected Point Color: The color of the selected point
    • Include surrounding areas in generation: This will force the generator to include all possible areas, if a point lies on more than one map segment.
    • dynamically filters the included areas, to those that exist, based on the files list in the sps img folder

No. Many people couldnt run wolygons path creator because they had old computers. This one will run on any pc that has java. Also allows you to manipulate your paths, which you cannot do in wolygons. you cannot delete a point, so if you have too many points your stuck

Im in full support of this as, yes, many people do not have Wolygon support. Just one question, will this be slower than wolygon's (lagwise) because I find Wolygons quite slow

I found it laggy a little, but this one is instant. it only loads the visible rectangle section of the map so its just like dragging something in real life. instant

Looks really good and well made, efficient. Rep+

I do have two suggestions: painting the minimap circle around the latest point, so that you know what the limit for the next point is, (like it was in Sumillion's path maker I believe), and making the dot go a different colour if it is too far away to click.

It's easy to find out the radius u need for this, just open up Simba and do MMX2 - MMCX, that'll give you the MM's radius.

It still did it, so I just copied link and pasted into new tab. That worked

I like it though, and how the whole map is visible too.

    Ah two great ideas =D

I think you meant wolygons path maker? Wasn't aware sumilion wrote one too

Adding the circle right now,and I can change the color of a line between two points if its too far? Same effect.

not entirely sure what col would be best =\

also thanks for the link fix, i couldnt figure it out =\

Sumillion built the original Radial Walk tool, iirc.

Nah I think yakman did that. Sumillion wrote one for when it was still reflection walking.

If you read through the topic you would've found the answer already. Just quote his post and copy&paste the link in your browser.

Looks interesting, by the way! Unfortunately there aren't any SPS maps available for the Great Orb Project yet. Working on my own hehe

Modified it so it isnt so dark outside the minimap, and made the current point get painted last, so that if multiple points are on top of each other, it wont get buried.
Also will paost a jar and source zip in a few mins. Any more suggestions?

BTW, dotted line means it is a bad line, longer than 70 pixels, so there is a good chance sps will fail

you can see the distance that i set as acceptable, between the two lines branching from the middle of the mm circle. the dotted one is too long, the non dotted is fine

edit wth D= my pic is gone o.O
it works, then it doesnt =\
