    Exclamation Anti-colour botting update!

    Well this was unexpected 0_o

I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but when i was in FOG every couple of minutes (like 5) the colour of the scene would change (it would go slightly darker) and then after a few mins it would change again (this time go lighter)

Seems they are slowly going towards the colour bots too :/

EDIT:Confirmed the fog colours do change, this might be a tester from jagex to see if this sort of anti-colour botting works.

    Thoughts on this?

i havent seen this personally. but hopefully it wont have to much affect on color bots.

could it be your pc monitor? like are you 100% sure its the game and not something else affecting color of your pc?

just wondering. and ill head to FOG soon to see for myself. thanks for sharing

In fact I have one: idk about all of you but FOG is not important to me, after all, we care more for the skills and minigames like FOG are fun to do legit since it doesn't require much points for exchangeable items. That's my opinion.

Thats just a update to fog as noted in their patch note. I don't think its a sign of the color bot nuke. But it might be coming soon anyways.

hi people, the only way to truly stop color scrapers is to change the game to 3D or black and white, you and i both know that wont happen happy botting

Erm the game is already 3d has been since rs2.

But yeah there not much they can do to stop us only slow us down and improve our coding personally I think jagex is wants to just bots a min there are ways of them preventing rs working while simba is running I think they want a balance(no farmers) and with these new money hungry owners won't want a reduced revenue

They will never manage to get fully rid of colour bots because of no direct interaction between the client and runescape.

If you can direct me to a flawless FOG colour script, I'll think about whether or not it's an attempt to stop colour bots.

While I was botting at MA, the screen colour became dimmer suddenly. But it didn't affect my bot, its still running good. So idk if this is the anti-colour bot

If they do start doing things like this it will just make things like item records a lot more popular, nothing big...

This isn't anything new, I have noticed this over the past couple of weeks. Lots of items, settings, and other things are slightly changing now. Doesn't mean they can "nuke" color bots but there will be a lot more work needed to be put into these to make sure they work.

Wouldn't work. We can use shape recognition or the distances between black and white or even the percentages of each color in an area.

    Hahahaha, owned.

But obviously the game will never be black and white, so we don't have to worry.

Let's pretend Runescape has night and day and has this FOG feature the thread starter is talking about (all of this is global). Out of curiosity...how can we counter this?

Things will still have to have color. Items won't change complete color from day to night, so it can be easily overcome with tolerance.

Also, without changing anything at all as far as finding objects goes, you could just search for one color during the day, and the other color at night time. Simba would just have to have a time function, where when you begin the script, it grabs the time in England, and tells your script to do one thing or the other.

And if dusk/dawn and colors are in between night/day, you'd simply add more colors. But I think tolerance/uptext would also do the trick.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. This is just what I think.
