Default RS a very fit community

Well compared to most MMORPG's I am starting to believe the RS community, not just everyone here at simba but everyone that plays RS in general, is a very fit community. Of the 5 people (including myself) I know from my town that play Runescape, 4 are very fit and 1 is average. Out of the 4 people that are in great shape, 2 are varsity wrestling captains (1 junior and 1 senior) and the other one is a average wrestler and has won 3 fitness challenges in our town. Myself, being the fourth one, I am a above average swimmer, and I am training and hoping to do a half triathlon(iron man race) at the age of 14 (turning 15 soon). Also I have seen R4nd0m's posts about him trying to work out so it suggests he is in shape or at least trying to be.

EDIT: The WoW (World of Warcraft) part of my town. Most of the kids in my town that play WoW are very out of shape, and most don't play any sports at all. (Remember we are high school kids)

Anyways, I wanted to know if it was just a random occurrence that everyone I know who plays RS is in good or if it is the whole community. So feel free to post what you do to work out, or how much you run/swim/bike, play sports, or anything related to fitness really.

Based on that huge sample size it must be true I don't think you get as many hardcore gamers on RS as you do on things like WOW though, which could be a factor

Lol.. It's not a huge sample size that's why I want others to respond with what they do or don't do.

I would agree with this. Runescape seems more "arcade-ish" compared to a serious game such as WoW. I've actually never played it but heard quite a bit about it.

I would have to agree with you! Anyone I see that plays RS is actually pretty fit. But if they play WoW then they usually are outcasts at my school and are not fit.

I am extremely out of shape and of the two people I know (Myself and one friend) that plays RS, One is average while the other (myself) is out of shape and obese. I don't know that RS is a very "fit" community, I just know that some of us are fit, while others are obese.

offtopic: Man, I wish kids at my school would play RS. I've only told two of my friends and both of them were like "are you serious?". Meh. The game is fun for me at least.

ontopic: I am not in top form atm, but during the school year I keep in decent-good shape because of several different sports.

That is so true, it's probably because of RuneScape being a game that takes a lot less time to achieve things than WoW also I find RS a lot less addictive compared to WoW. As all my friends who play WoW are obsessed with it, but not the same story for RS as really we all bot

It's more of the addictive level, not the achieve level, WoW takes far less time to get stuff than runescape does (today) and is probably one of the easiest MMORPG's ever made, but people do sit on there 10+ hours a day

That being said, on the internet, community & games out of the thousands of people I've met maybe <100 are overweight, I think professional TV watchers get there long before gamers do, most gamers I know are either super skinny or pretty in shape

I can agree with this. True not a huge sample size and maybe some stereotyping but everyone I know that plays Runescape are actually quite healthy, and if you saw them you wouldn't expect them to be playing an MMORPG. Although, I dont know anyone who plays WOW so I cant say anything on that part. Fat unhealthy gamers is just a stereotype to be honest. Most of us have lives, It's just a handful that are very addicted.

Sitting in Soul Wars botting while duders are boasting about their "800 days logged" makes me think otherwise.

WoW is one of the most addicting games out there, and so it doesnt let u do anything else
Runescape is also an addicting game but not as addicting as WoW, allowing you walk outside in to the sun, and maybe take a jog.
But before you go outside you put your account on bot, which releases seratonine( signals satisfaction)
Because I, and the majority of SRL contributors,
    believe in co-existing with Runescape.
We don't want to ruin the game for legit players,
but simply help us to advance our skills without harming others.

While watching tv you got both hands free. Making it possible to eat while watching. Also the breaks helps a lot, enough time to go the toilet and get a new bag of lays and a beer. You can't do that with most games without losing xp!
