    Summoning and prayer have no affect on your CB level, so now I have no motivation to train either xD

    So now, all pures will be getting 99 prayer since it doesn't effect their combat level and they can use it anyways? Does that mean the price of bones is going to skyrocket?

    Well then.... My main and my range tank will be the same cb level? Jagex always has to go and "fix" stuff no one complained about.

    With the new level of balance we hope to bring to Melee, Range and Mage, and the reinforcement of the combat triangle, having 99 in Attack, Strength, Magic and Range won't provide you with an advantage over someone with only 99 in one corner of the combat triangle. Armours now feature heavy negative penalties for attacking with the wrong style while wearing them, so having 99's in all the corners of the combat triangle will not present an advantage during a fight. Where having 99's will be an advantage, is giving you the choice as to what style of combat you want to use before a fight.

    Armour switching in combat will not be an effective tactic to employ, as when you switch some armour in combat, you will encur a double global cool-down across all your abilities, which will result in your damage output taking a serious hit in the short-term which will give quite an advantage to your opponent who will still be blasting away at you. GF hybridding

    Harry's Dragith Nurn Killer + Caotom's Rock Crab Trainer on my pure got me from 1 def and str to 40 in 2 days.

    Personally I like the idea. It encourages players to have to train at places other than bandits or something similar. Even though I think it might be stupid that an almost max player killing green dragons may not gain any experience for killing them.

    My big issue with this (and I do mean big) is for F2P training. The number of F2P monsters is already scarce, and there are only a few in any given level range. You'll be forced to train on one or two types of monsters, and it will be insanely crowded by the other players forced to train there as well.

    Also popular P2P training methods will be severely affected. Considering that Constitution isn't factored into the new formula at all, Experiments will become Lv4.

    Assuming their stats don't change, we do have a good idea*. Experiments being the example, in order for their current combat level (Lv 25) to work they would have 1 Att/Str/Def and 100 Constitution. After the update, that would give them a combat level of 4. All of the low def, high HP monsters that are popular for training will recieve the same treatment once health is no longer factored into their CB level.

    *We know the health of all monsters, and given their combat levels and weaknesses we can estimate the general range of their stats with the current formula. With Turmoil estimation we can get a pretty good idea of where each of their melee stats stand, and educated guesses can be taken at range/magic to make the combat level work.

    This. They obviously wouldn't leave the current levels of thing's, because the list of things to realistically train on would be so small.. I read somewhere that they were adjusting the combat levels of monsters to suit their power, so it would scale with our increased level.

    Personally I don't think the new combat level formula is that great.. like honestly considering you can get max level with 99 in two skills, it's ridiculous but that's my only problem with it so far. I like where thing's are going, it's going to make PvM beast with the HP boost Armour gives, new bosses and more distinct combat roles, but its going to ruin PvP further.

    I don't quite understand where they are going with this..
    if 99att/str/hp/range/magic/pray/summoning and 1 def would be the same combat lv as someone with only one of those 99s and hybriding can't be done due to the drop in your offensive damage, you will just have to stand there and slog it out with someone and it will come down to who has the most/best food in a fight..

    Not to mention people will only attack another person if they are clearly the other end of the combat triangle from them (i.e. rangers > mages or mages > melee etc.) because they know that they can't suddenly switch to another skill.

    The only people this will benefit are those with 99 summ, 99pray with 99atk + str(or 99range/99mage).

    Constitution definitely needs to be taken into account along with prayer and summoning, how can stats that affect your ability in PvP combat be excluded from the calculation of the "combat" level?

    This. This is my biggest problem with how this will affect PvP. It's going to become a game of rock/paper/scissors, but you already know what the other person is throwing beforehand and you can choose to play against them or not.

    It's to balance the combat triangle guys! If you are a meleer and are level 200 then you obviously hve at least 99 in one melee skill besides defence. If you see a mage that is level 200 then they are going to absolutely wreck you because they will probably have 99 Def and 99 mage making them your cb level. And same goes for the rest of the triangle.

    I feel like this is the end of RS lmao. Not sure if you can still auto retaliate but combat isn't gonna be afkable anymore which is like almost every other game out there :P I just wished I 've gotten 99 slayer before this tbh xD
