    Default DTM help

When making a DTM, I know you pick a parent point with tolerance, and then you pick the subpoints, but do all the subpoints have to be the same color? I was trying to make a DTM for high alch, but all the blacks were different shades, I couldnt get enough of one color. Thanks!
Thx Euphemism and Vinyl for the awesome siggy and avatar!

Absolutely not, we're just accustomed to using the black outline of items as subpoints (for shape) and naturally they're the same shade of black. You don't have to use the same color for sub points.

originally, i used one main point with tolerance of 25 then all black outline points, but there were issues with certain items with similar shapes. since then, i read demises dtm tutorial, and now i make all of my points with 15 tolerance. the first is in the middle, then just like 4-5 points not on the outline, but in the item and they are random colors. it works amazing and i havent had issues yet

Alright, Thanks! Ill try that out. Every time I tried to get a dtm of high alch using the outline, I got about 20 matches!

as long as all of the matches are on the high alch its fine. if they are elsewhere then you have a problem

Actually, I fail using Demise's method.

I find using the black outline is much more reliable in the long run, as colour changes can effect inner points while the black outline is always the same colour.

A little note though, never grab points from the top left of an object because that's where graphical glitches can mess up your DTM's.

I can't remember, haven't made a DTM for an item in ages, all I know is that I wasn't very successful using Demise's method

But hey, works for some people, not for others.
