Default Does anybody else Experience Music Earworms??

    http://www.theworld.org/2012/02/music-earworms/

    My strory:
I have listened to a lot of music repetitively in my life for a large percentage of it also, when I was a kid and playing Pokemon Games and listening to the various battle tunes/music, when my brother introduced me to Eminem music.

The odd thing is tho, I have a almost Photographic memory of all of these events in my life. When I just typed pokemon ^ the tune instantly popped into my head as soon as the first couple of tones started it was a like a Multi Threaded Simultaneous array of Images whenever I focus on one of these images a video of something plays then it multiplies into 2 more and so on splitting into thousands in my mind and it is still happening as I am typing this a long with various other tunes.

It got to a point where I could not listen to music because of the overwhelming non stop thoughts and looping of many many different things multiplying at the same time.

It was 2 intense and very distracting, I would almost sort of lose control of my focus on other things I was working on like Programming which isn't associated with sound.

I now have much better control, after understanding it more every day I have been Improving and have been able to listen to music, ads/radio I do not like ads very much It faintly arises anxious feelings if it is 2 long like 15 seconds on Youtube it sucks for me.

I definitely associate emotional responses to sounds arrays of tones etc.. so yeah most of the time it is pleasant sometimes not so pleasant but it's just the faintness of the emotions that are attached to the sound memorys specific time, if that makes any sense.

I recently noticed while coding and things that I am starting to have these images of arrays Wrap placings things like that when I type certain stuff when making loops n things.. also.

So lately I've been purposely manipulating putting things I want to remember in my head with a tune my own tune and a good emotional response, It's been amazing to be honest if I say it out loud it works much better for an odd reason as well, I think maybe because my ears connect it better to wherever this get's stored.

When I read these days 2 since coding these past 6 months it is weird it's like I read 3 Lines all at the same time but go up and down 2 3 times instead of 30 words or whatever it's 7 Lines.. n most of the time it happens very quick I've been focusing on this more as well and am really starting to get the knack of it.

What I am really curious about is if anyone else here experiences any thing similar to what I am or is programmed differently which gives them disadvantages in some ways but also good advantages if used right?

Whenever I hear songs for the first time, if I hear them again it takes me right back to when I first heard it. Sounds, Smells, sights, everything. I get that totally. Its really awesome when you listen to Skrillex for an 11 hour flight(it was the only thing loud enough) and then suddenly when you hear it you can feel yourself fly.

Also, I use thing like that for memorization. Its not something everybody can instantly do, but I believe that with enough mental training and anguish you can make your brain equate songs to memories very quickly.

Some songs take me back to when I first heard them, others seem to get stuck in your mind, and then never leave. different people have different variations of this effect.

Beyond that, your on your own, as I am not a doctor...
Of all the things I have lost, I miss my mind the most.

Never the case for me any more. I pretty much emotionally blocked out that ability some months ago.

Although sometimes if I hear a prominent tune from a video game or something I will slightly remember what was on the screen at the time upon first hearing it, but that's about it.

Leetsxc, you should try out lucid dreaming, as that ability you have there (if it is as you say) would help remarkably in inducing them using the WILD technique.

I lucid dream a lot, I had no idea about this technique but I just read some things and It is very Similar to some of the things I do
I Closed my eyes just then n Entered into my Mind's map of a procedure I wanted to Improve while Preventing myself from being fully asleep It's the first stage I was going into then the trick to stay in the Hypnagogic State and still aware of your surroundings is setting boundaries for yourself coding it with persistent thoughts from letting your brain wander 2 far and not losing your body in the thought completely while still exploring.
After reading about what you mentioned Daniel, It's definitely the Virtual movement or Dimension movement which mimics Real Movement In a way or Moving forward would be a better analogy I guess which I Lose my body In or almost do but stop it from happening with Checks.

I can do this with my eyes open much better tho but only while I am looking into a computer screen, I do it more fluently I tend to be in a half Hypnagogic state in portions of thoughts, I believe having access to virtual reality's has helped humans visualize or create parts of them..
I do it sometimes with one eye closed one eye open to a lesser extent n relaxing that side of my body/mind more than the right somehow I taught myself all this stuff somehow tho the visualization things..

I've been stuck inside full Lucid Dream Worlds with just my identity present not being able to wake up, since I'm technically sleep paralyzed but unable to exit, Until High enough bordom/energy levels Occur and I Auto awake from strong emotion and as well sometimes Involuntarily when I want to stay focused which can suck because I need to back track to previous pathways to get the same dimension which can leave me doing so for a long time if I can not force myself to just go with any or really want to reach the verge again which happens a lot if I lose 2 much Lucidness.

Other weird shit while In Hypnagogic State is being able to continue typing while being in a very close to sleeping state automatically which is hard although automatic at sometimes which I don't understand, Sort of like Sleep walking.. but typing the words are sometimes back to front like "Hey, You" would be "You Hey," or "You, Hey,"

When you mentioned pokemon, I can still hear certain pokemon tunes, battle screeches... its weird. I've never been fortunate enough to have a lucid dream though.

You guys, I think I have an explanation. Indigo. Not the color, the.. Spiritual, I guess you could say. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indigo_children <-- the only wiki I can find that is totally about this.
    Spiritualism
The color electric indigo is used to symbolically represent the sixth chakra (called Ajna), which is said to include the third eye. This chakra is believed to be related to intuition and gnosis (spiritual knowledge).[27]
In New Age philosophy, indigo is regarded as representing intuition.[28]
The "New Age Prophetess", Alice A. Bailey, in her system called the Seven Rays which classifies humans into seven different metaphysical psychological types, the "second ray" of "Love-Wisdom" is represented by the color indigo. People who have this metaphysical psychological type are said to be "on the Indigo Ray".[29]
Psychics who claim the ability to observe the aura with their third eye generally associate indigo, in auras, with an interest in religion or with intense spirituality and intuition. Indigo children are said to have predominately indigo auras. People with indigo auras are said to be in occupations such as computer analyst, animal caretaker, and counselor.[30]
<-- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indigo#Spiritualism only thing on this page about it.

Whenever I'm doing something that had music played, whether in the background, foreground, or distance, I always remember what I was doing when I hear that music again.

I get this as well. However I don't have multiple image reminders, usually I just get single picture reminders of a time in my life and a very strong emotion that is attached to the image.

I find that listening to classical music, this happens a lot because of the myriad of ranges that a single 20 minute classical production can hit.

I think in a somewhat similar way to you. There is a psychological condition for it but I don't remember what it is. I want to say it is a form of psychosis. Can't remember.

I get this but much less intensely as you describe, mainly I just always have a song or tune or beat in my head.
