This isn't true at all. That would be against the law for them to be able to see any site I have visited. An invasion of privacy.

It's perfectly legal--it's the referer (sic) URL in your HTTP GET request. Your browser reports to the new website the URL of the link you clicked on to get to said website.

As an aside, HTML v5 will include an optional directive to prevent links from containing referrer information due to the privacy risk they can represent.

    E.G.

    HTML Code:
    <a href="www.google.com" rel="noreferrer">My link</a>

it must break terms of data collection act tho, its not legal for them to deliberatly collect data of people visiting random forums so they wouldnt be able to use any of that information they gained :S might be wrong but im 99% sure it boils down to data protection well for us brits anyways

    No, you're wrong.

Whenever you click a link, the website you are about to visit (in this case, the Runescape site) AUTOMATICALLY receives information about the page that contained the link (in this case the Simba forums). Jagex doesn't have to do any snooping at all, and this type of receiving data is commonly used by web sites to determine where their traffic is originating. It's standard procedure for ALL online companies to keep track of where their customers are being linked from, just for advertising reasons.

Jagex is also known to keep track of traffic from the known botting sites, and compare IPs to the IPs that log in to play Runescape. This is also ethical, and rather easily automated. Anyone being linked to Runescape's official sites from a botting site has any account on the same IP red flagged for future monitoring. Whether you respect their ability to do anything about botters or not, it's still foolish to open yourself up to known risks of this nature. You wouldn't bot 24/7 next to a JMod, so why would you tell Jagex "I VISIT BOT SITES HA HA HA!"?

Jagex doesn't have to do any snooping of their own to run afoul of even the most stringent data privacy laws that a paranoid schizophrenic could design, much less any real-world laws.

Jagex is an American owned company now... and let us not forget that they collect this data, and then watch you....sorta like eliminating most of the straw in the haystack and then looking for that needle.....

Still I think the advice to beware of directly linking to their site is wise... copy the link, close villavu, and then open a new browser and paste N Go!

just wondering what the update status is?

Side note: if this is part of their optimus plan its ingenious, just fuck around by adding a bar to the top to fuck over all colour scraping bots, and once they finally get updated all they need to do is move the bar to the bottom of the client or something silly like that and bang your out for another who knows how long.

Wrong.. moving the bar will never again make SRL go down.. it'd go down for max half an hr. Why? Because the longterm fix that everyone is waiting on that is supposed to come out today will fix future bars and stupid additions too.

SetClientArea(X1, Y1, X2, Y2); That allows you to just move the client pointer around so that if the bar does move or change size, all you have to do is change the values in that and whala. All good again.

I tested PowerBot with Resizable graphics. Items still deformed. I deleted cache, tried again, it is same. Look like they are deforming items for bot client, not a safe mode bug.
