Likewise, in approximately two hours I will be sitting in the cinemas watching this. Unbelievably keen, the trailers look so cool. Will be interested to see what other people's takes are on it once I have formed my own opinion

I hope this is a troll. This is the third movie in the trilogy...? And neither of the first two were horrible. The Dark Night was phenomenal.

Wait, really? There was a second already? :S Guess it shows how much I stopped paying attention due to the first movie. And I wholeheartedly disagree with your it being "phenomenal" statement.

Also, no, I am not trolling. The first movie had a very cliche and boring plot, little to no ideas in it, nothing to value..

I also didn't like the first, but the second one was great.

The movie isn't out where I live, so I'll have to wait a few more weeks to watch it.

I'm surprised you don't know about and haven't seen the second one. It was a big deal even before its release because of Heath Ledger. You should give it a go sometime!

I definitely enjoyed it, they've set themselves up nicely for another sequel, though!

Heath Ledger passed away during the first one... And I was initially correct, The Dark Knight Rises is a sequel to the original The Dark Knight. And I had no idea it was a trilogy, lol, this being the third in the series.

Heath Ledger passed away after the filming of the second film (The Dark Night) in the trilogy. I guess if you want to view the The Dark Night and The Dark Night Rises as separate from Batman Begins, then yea he passed away in the first one.
