Ironic how he was wearing orange in his university picture, because that's the color he'll be wearing for the rest of his life

While it is a sad happening, I don't feel that guns are at all to blame because if other members of the audience had been carrying, either open or concealed, then he could have been stopped much more quickly instead of being able to be on a rampage for almost seven minutes.

Roger Ebert has a pretty good article about this. What's the point of conceal and carry laws if no one is going to stand up and use their gun at a point like this? I've heard many people say that the people in the theater were scared to draw their weapons, fearing they may be mistaken as the shooter. But seriously, if you've got a conceal and carry license, that's a risk you're going to have to take to save some lives.

    Here's the article. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/07/21/op...&smid=tw-share

It is weird how he was a graduate and then just decided to throw his life away just like that. =/ Apparently he even put traps in his house for when the cops went to search it.

That's crazy. Reminds me of the movie Gran Torino...

If only more people in our country were like that.

    Couldn't agree more.

I mean, what is the point to carry a gun. Why is it legal to 'conceal and carry? How can a tool that can take people lives ever serve any good.

    It's ridiculous.

wow best second post ever XD.... On the other hand this was terrible! It would have been pretty cool to have been a survivor though because the actor that plaied batman visited the survivors at the hospital.

Gun control? We need bullet control! I think every bullet should cost $5,000. Because if a bullet cost $5,000, we wouldn't have any innocent bystanders. That'd be it. Every time someone gets shot, people will be like, ''Damn, he must have did something. S**t, they put $20,000 worth of bullets in his ass.'' People would think before they killed somebody, if a bullet cost $5,000. ''Man, l would blow your f**king head off, if l could afford it. l'm gonna get me another job, l'm gonna start saving some money, and you're a dead man! You better hope l can't get no bullets on layaway.'' So even if you get shot by a stray bullet, you won't have to go to no doctor
to get it taken out. Whoever shot you would take their bullet back. ''l believe you got my property.''

It's intresting to see that someone bothered to post about this on here. For me this was a very tragic occurance that hits close to home. I personally live in colorado, like Silent, not very far from Aurora. In fact, Aurora was the city in which I have lived most of my life. The city which I went to High School, the city where most of my family and friends live. I personally know someone who was at the theatre and managed to survive.

This is very personal to me and I hope something like this will never happen again. It is good to know that other people who are not as close to this as I am can give their sympathy, and I would like to thank them for that.
