    Default Virtual machine

    Hello everyone,

I am looking to setup a virtual machine to run scripts on. Can anyone recommend a program to use? I have limited experience using them in Ubuntu, but have never really used one in Windows.

Also, is there a guide on this site to setting one up? Any tips would be appreciated as I am not quite as savvy as a lot of the users on this site.

    Thanks, Andres

I second the Virtual box reccomendation. You might have to go into you bios/uefi to enable virtual systems if it is not already selected for you. Other then that its pretty easy!

    virtualbox, easy

fedora / Lubuntu are the best linux's to run in the VM that I've experienced, for light weight etc

ubuntu uses quite a bit more cpu with smart/simba..

I'll make a guide if you want.

Really? I have never really had this issue, I run several copies of simba/smart on my vm just fine ;o
I do think a guide to setting up a VM would be useful to a lot of people, I can make one tomorrow if you want.

Sure it can run several simba/smarts fine? Nobody said it couldn't, however In my multiple test experience Lubuntu & fedora both run almost double without much strain.

the tinybot.iso that comes along with it is pretty small, but it also includes rid, winrar and java. thats why you need to remove it

Great info guys! I've got VirtualBox setup, now I just need to get the OS booted, which shouldn't be too difficult.

I'll take a look at your guide now, Grats.
